| It's easily noticable now how there are so many stations with so many dj's starting so many threads now, so I was wondering if it'd be any help to have a sub-forum of music discussion where all such posts on broadcasts should go ? |

that's a great idea
but a sticky thread will do..
we have enough forums already.
i used to have a similar thread in the Belgian forum, but i was unable to edit the first post after a few weeks.. so the thread went to hell. :(
i dunno in which forums you can edit the first post permanently, but if that's possible in Music Discussion, i think a sticky thread is just fine. no need for yet another forum.. |

| the problem with sticky threads is again that it's hard to edit them, and having a seperate forum would allow people to make threads for each show they're trying to get us information for, and allows anyone who has a show on a big station or a personal one to put stuff up, and with several shows a day let alone week, I think it'd quickly build into a decent sub-forum |

yeah I second this idea. and it should be for both ametuers and pros alike.
It would be an easy place to check for current tunes. Since whenever the event er whatever is over they would just closed or delete the thread.
I like it. |

we currently have something like this .. but for DJ mixes by locals in the TOTA forum.. and yeah it's a sticky thread as opposed to a subforum..

yeah, we do a ukta one each week, but to me it'd make a lot of sense to bunch all similar ones together, could even make it so no post counts either to stop blatant bumping & spam for those purposes, but with gdjb, taw, trancesphere, ets, pvds show, it'd all be good to find out exactly whats on in one place and leave md for more music talk than a forum advertising all whats on |

Hrmm....I really like this idea, there's so many new threads being created about individual shows already *cough* ASOT *cough* Besides, TA nowadays gets its' high user counts whenever ASOT is on, a forum for radio shows in general would be a good idea.
I think the main thing that should be put into consideration when making a new forum is (organization it would bring) vs. (Overall clutter). I'm thinking the organization would outweigh the downsides of creating a new forum. |

yeah, you're probably right
there would be lots of spam though, people signing up to TA just to promote themselves.. |

Why not for the threads were people are advertising that there DJing at home and want people to listen in, have an option that you set a certain amount of time before the thread will be deleted, these threads don't last long, only afew hours, since the person is only gona be DJin for so long, so why not have an option where you choose how long the thread stays alive, like options between 5 - 24 hours.
and if your afraid of people spamming the forum with advertisements for themselves all the time, just give them a warning and if they carry on ban them, because the threads wouldn't last long, so they would probably want to keep posting it for people to see, and so it would be easy to find the people that are just there to advertise. |

you can delete or close any thread you start, so I don't think there woudl be a need for a timed thread. they can just close the thread after they are done, or after everyone is done flaming them for sucking for 3 hours :D
I still think this is a great idea, we could even sticky up in it how to broadcast easily through shoutcast. |
