It's not that there is any harm caused, it's the fact that you're grotesquely exploiting the forums to your own profit by being a humongous spammer, and to add insult to injury, you start bitching by creating a whole new thread. And that is just annoying. |

Profit? A few hundred dollars per month out of pocket is hardly profit.
I see no money from my radio - it is purely a tool for TA DJs to promote themselves. Christ - I have a 25 listener maximum cap (@ 125kbps).
If I wanted to make money I'd throw it in the stock market - not provide a -free- internet radio station. |

Who said anything about money? Profit means that you're gaining something, and this spamming of yours surely was surely implemented to gain as many listeners as possible, no? I'll leave the fact that you spam six different forums while your stream is capped @ 25 listeners alone for now. |

Again - has nobody in Europe ever heard of temporary promotion?
Do you see premier league ads when the season is over? Does NFL Europe promote when there are no games? No – the promotion stops (and ads stop running/the threads get deleted).
Posting a promotion thread for 2 hours while a set is live is HARDLY detrimental to TA, HARDLY harmful to regional forums, BARELY noticeable by 80% of the user ship on TA (especially considering the set was from 3AM [eastern US])?? The 3 threads left (would have been 2 if Lunchelot woulnd't have locked the .de thread) hardly cause detriment to the forums that they are in.
None the less. I apologize for the “phantastische unbequemlichkeit” I have caused here in the German forum. |

The fact that you compare your own radio station's promotion on a messageboard to a football league's countrywide promotion in the media says it all.

Are you completely dense? It's not about whether your threads are harmful or not, it's about the fact that blatantly spamming about your own radio show in six different forums is ing annoying, not to mention the fact that you've been on TA for over a year and still haven't learned to use PMs. |

I don't understand why you have to make this such a big discussion...it's not as if there were 100s of "foreign" TAs posting such "ad-threads" here all the time!
To me it seemed like an isolated incident, and I don't consider one (for me) uninteresting thread an annoyance! If someone doesn't want to know about the thread, he/she doesn't have to read it.
I myself thought "hey cool, someone from outside german TA is posting something here?", and then "ok, I'm not a frequent radio listener, so I just don't read the thread...". Isn't this forum a place for people all over the world to come together to talk about our favourite music? Ok, so this is a special subforum for Germany only, but I think one doesn't have to be THAT strict about the separation...it's nice to see someone from other countries checking out "our scene" as well. After all, this is the internet :D
And please don't assume that I'm entirely defending rabbitjoker here...I'm just trying to calm everything down cause I think expressions like

Noone profits of this and it is cleard with swamper, so don`t talk about things you know nothing about.
I first saw the pm before I saw this thread so I first replied to your pm. I`m not sure if I had been so polite in my pm if I had seen this thread before.
I won`t post the content of my pm here because it`s a pm but the other GTA`s have already told you everything that I could tell you in this post.
If everyone tells you that you`re wrong you should start to think about it... |

I will defend myself since you are addressing me. The reason I reacted that way is because he used one of the least intelligent and totally irrelevant stereotypes in the world in an argument against me, and that's why it pissed me off.
As to why this is such a big issue, well I just pointed out that you're supposed to PM a mod when you wonder why a thread was closed, not make a new one asking why. The fact that he made one after spamming six forums with the same damn thread made that I couldn't resist uttering my opinion on such activity, and that's how the debate kicked off. I'm still wondering why Lunchy hasn't closed this useless thread yet.. |
