Also leaves me a little freaked as to be honest, not sure what the scene is like there.

I know it's november time... watch this space is all I can say.

we want decent names that are "low cost" djs. like i know judge jules fergie and jon carter are good croud pullers that are pretty cheap and probly pretty realistic price range. but these guys come up all the time so we want other names that are marketable. the musical styles have to be D&B, trance, prog and possably hip-hop (not comercial pish proper hip hop).

the aim is basicly to get good dj's up here to make good nights while we would get to dj when we wanted too and create a small name for ourselves.

Sounds interesting.
Main thing for me would be the travel, just did a quick check on lastminute.com and the flight was around £150. If you are interested send me a PM and I will give you a preliminary quote.

I'm interested to know the venue etc. and if they have a website as I like to know a little about places before I go there assuming that you want me to ofcourse. :)

New years eve is a different story, you can never compare those prices with regular prices through out the year. NYE always turns into a bidding frenzy for top name DJs and in the end the one who can pay the most get's the DJ. You will also find that there is always a lot more to those deals than meets the eye.

Even pre club bar DJs get paid a lot more, so it's not representative of the scene as a whole.

he got 250k for millenium eve, which considering the amount of offers he had to play places that night was the going rate for his services.

His current normal fee is as i put above- as nem points out, NYE is a different kettle of fish.
The Don
Jules DID NOT get a1/4 of a million for the millenium..

Thats possibly the funniest thing ive read all day!

Absolutely.

As I said earlier NYE is a different story but on the same count the millenium was a mad affair.
I normally get paid over a grand for a normal NYE and was paid silly money at the millenium gig.
The rumour mill has it that the average fee on the millenium was 20k for the lower bracket DJs.

The millenium was more about prestige than anything else for most clubs. To be seen as the club that was able to afford Jules or Cox on that night is a big deal in club land. For those that haven't worked it out yet, a lot of things in the DJ industry are about front and reputation.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they are worth it but these figures are totally possible. I also know what Fergie was paid to DJ at God's Kitchen in Belfast last years boxing day and know that we are not talking Mickey Mouse money there either. Jules, Ferry, Marco V, Scott Project and Armin were also there and I imagine they were paid similar money.

These guys also get paid a shed load for their Ibiza appearances, again not to be compared to regular club land appearances.

Oopps

I mistyped- he got 150k.
This is a fact- not a micky mouse figure.

Money+reputation is the driving force behind this business-, and as nem says, NYE is mad normally, millenium was insane.
