UK trance label Anjunabeats has launched a new digital download label: AnjunaDigital. Encouragingly, the service has already sold several hundred downloads within hours of going live this week.
The new digital imprint makes all existing Anjunabeats material available to buy as a high quality download, but will also feature hot and exclusive digital-only content.
To kick things off, AnjunaDigital is offering exclusive new download-only remixes of Smith and Pledger ‘Forever’, including mixes from Tiesto favourite ‘Mark Norman’ and Oakenfold-championed prog genius ‘Aspekt’.
“It’s good news on a number of levels," said label owners Above & Beyond. “People shouldn’t feel bad about wanting to download music, it’s just taken a while for the right technology to be available to give people what they want – high quality, legal downloads.”
"We get lots of emails from non-vinyl users asking where they can buy Anjunabeats tracks on CD, so hopefully this will go some way to helping these people.”
Above & Beyond added: “We get sent so much good stuff that it’s just not feasible to release everything on vinyl. AnjunaDigital opens up the possibility of sometimes releasing new material or additional remixes on a digital-only basis.”
The Anjuna Digital label is fully integrated into the existing web shop at www.anjunabeats.com, with downloads available from £1.30 each.
Future exclusive download-only will include the Gabriel & Dresden and Smith & Pledger dub mixes of Above & Beyond feat. Zoe Johnston, ‘No One On Earth.’ |

Mis-Informed totally!
The files come straight from the final 'mastered' copies from the mastering house.
Head over to http://www.anjunabeats.com click 'shop' then select 'downloads' you can download a sample free of charge to see what the quality is like.
The guys have used these files in their DJ sets and say the quality is fantastic. The reason WMA is used because of the digital rights management it offers over any other format. However the quality does not suffer.
Its quality and all for £1.30!! :D |

Ugh... high-priced and inconvenient file format... I wish they could just use high quality MP3 files.
