Firewire is better but well
it'll do the job, especially for the price it's good stuff. |

M Audio Ozone...has everything, including XLR input. I have one for my laptop and it's great. Sound quality-wise, it compares to my M Audio Delta 1010. :) |

When you say you want a SC with one in and out it means you won't be able to record or play stereo. Stereo is two channels!
Depending on what you are doing I would imagine you want at least 2 in/outs. Seeing as you have Aus as your flag I guess your money doesn't go that far when buying gear internationally but you may want to take a look at the m-audio FW410, I have one and it is great, built like a tank, looks good, works well 4 in 10 out that includes 2 in/out digital, midi in/out and xlr/1/4' i/o. I would have prefered it as 10 in 4 out as I don't need surround yet but it is good for me. |

thanks for that RiCo
will have a look at m-audio :)
(was looking at that in the first place just wondering if it was any good)
mainly just want to use the midi to control
the A&H xone 92.
and get it to record the audio (high quality) at the same time. |

Rob seeing as you are getting a xone 92 I guess money isn't an issue but what exactly do you want to control via midi, cause the FW410 is a midi interface and does not send midi messages by itself you are going to need a midi controler as well unless you want to use the mouse on the computer screen. There are some good looking midi inteface controler soundcard combos coming on the market, Novation has a nice one. |

If you're after the best mobile audio card check out:
1x RME Cardbus (PCMCIA)
1x RME Multiface(24Bit/96kHz spdif, 1xMidiIn 1xMidiOut, 8Analog, 8aDat etc.)
This solution costs a few bucks, but if you're serious this is it!
RME is also known to program fantastic drivers for their cards and they build their products with pure quality components all the way..
I've been using this solution for my laptop when travelling along with a RME PCI card and 2x Multiface in my non-portable studio.
Check out: http://www.rme-audio.de/
Cheers,
Sunjam
