All i know is im glad i saw Armin..if i would not have seen him & Saw Tiesto first..i think i would have lost my love for trance music..because to see "#1" dj..and for him to diss you & disapoint you like that..is no bueno. His line up wasnt even that good..only few good songs where..Traffic,clokx,Adagio,& Pole Position. The rest of the time i was just talking to some girls( btw some of those models where pretty tasty :D )....but he really did disapointme. Im kinda skeptical on the rest of the dj's that are coming to texas..Pvd & Okenfold...i hope they have a better attitude than Tiesto. Cant believe ill say this...but Tiesto sucks..social wise.

Should've done what James (Rememberance) did. He just threw his "Delerium - Silence" vinyl on the stage to be picked up by some other guy to give to Tiesto.

Maybe you were being a bit too pushy cause it sure does sound like it.

I had a friend that was up in the green room after his set. He said Tiesto just sat there and didn't speak much, then he said he didn't want to be in the room with that many people and took off to the room on the other side of the stage. my friend said he came back in a "relaxed" state and was a bit happier and signed some things. He did refuse to take pics though.

I had a great night at the show and good meeting you new guys. Sorry you got that format error on your camera joel. I think Tiesto threw down a very good set, but Ferry's set in Houston was more my style. Regardless, I had a blast with the tranceaddict.com and iloveraving.com peeps. I think my next show will be PVD in H-Town. ROAD TRIP!!!

Hmm mixed feelings about last night.

Leading up to the event I was pumped as all f*ck, but in the end I was dissapointed for a couple of reasons. Everything about the night was awesome except for those couple of things... so many mates were there that there was always someone to chat with, scream with, laugh with, and that had to have been the highlight of the night - good company. There were also of course some wicked tracks dropped, about 5 corkers that I had never heard before and were really my style - driving and uplifting trancers. In addition:

Adagio For Strings (Tiesto Remix)
+ Pole Position (Airbase Mix)
+ Dream Machine
+ Traffic (Original Mix)
+ Emotions In Motion (Not sure what remix cos it wasn't the Thrillseekers Remix)
+ Born Slippy Nuxx (Paul Oakenfold Remix)
+ a few others I enjoyed.

About the two things that were dissapointing, firstly was the sound system was set up . The majority of the tracks had hard and boomy basslines, typical of Tiesto's addiction to tech-trance, but the sound system emphasised the low end so much that I just couldn't enjoy most of these tracks. It's frustrating going to see a DJ of this calibre and not being able to hear his set properly cos the s can't hire a decent sound engineer (Ferry @ M-Bar comes to mind).

Secondly, and really I shouldn't complain about this, but I'm going to stress my dissapointment anyway... was the Delerium - Silence thing. When Tiesto toured Australia in late december last year, he played 2 new years eve gigs (Melbourne & Sydney on the same night), which at both he dropped Delerium - Silence (Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix). Long prior to these NYE gigs he had said in interviews that dispite the popularity of this track (released in 2000) he had retired it from his record bag and wouldn't play it again. Understandably I was shattered and totally envious of all my mates back home that were there for his sets... so anyway I wondered if I could get Tiesto to play my copy of it last night.

I wrote him a little note on the vinyl sleeve itself pleading for him to play it for us, and then I hesitantly threw it on the stage in front of him about an hour into his 3.5 hour set. He saw me wave it around and then throw it, and gave me a smile and with some hand movements he seemed to be asking me if I was suggesting that he play it. Of course myself and everyone around me were like F*CK YEAH!! nodding and giving him the thumbs up, so from that point on we were standing there waiting for him to come and grab it from the stage, read the note, and maybe drop it. Nearing the end of his set, the party organiser came down and grabbed the vinyl, taking it up to Tiesto. It sat there and sat there... and before long his set was over. No encores, no Silence, only silence. We all stood around confused as to wtf was happening, but he just walked off stage, looked like he signed some autographs for people in the VIP area behind the decks, and the party organiser then came down and gave the vinyl back to me. It was signed, but at that point I was :wtf: -> :( ->. From now on I'm going to have to look at that note I wrote on the vinyl sleeve and remember that it didn't get played, dispite the amount of hope and excitement of myself and everyone around me. At least it's signed I guess.

In short, the party was pretty good but nothing extraordinary. His gig in Houston (October '03) was much more enjoyable, tracklist and sound system was much better, and back then he didn't seem as unfriendly. Aside from the Silence thing (and other unbiased people share this opinion), I think he's getting a little jaded, and unappreciative of the very people that voted him #1 DJ in the world. Let's hope he doesn't go as far as being another PvD.
MichaelBoogerd!
what time was his 3.5 hour showing...

u guys need to give him a break... cos when he's doing his American thing... its rare that he gets some days off u know, 4-5 days a week performing sets is a lot more than his schedule of 2-3 a weekend...

just something to bear in mind when he doesn't smother u with attention and responsiveness in future!
