I don't really like G&D that much, so I really went to party with friends as opposed to being there for the music (like say, Armin or Ferry).

only songs I could ID were

Solid Globe - Sahara

Above & Beyond - No One on Earth (G&D remix) (I like original mix better)

4 strings - into the night

and the encore was

Andain - Beautiful Things (G&D's unplugged mix)

Got my ATRC vinyl signed.

I wasn't feeling it.... so I left between 2:30 and 3.

It wasn't very good, in my opinion.

Danced to the music, but didn't feel it.:(
Zombie0729
wow... thats 3 negative reactions... and worse yet they are the only ones and they are in a row!
Boomer187
they would have to be in a row if they are the only ones :P.

hehe, I can't believe they are getting bad reviews. I like most of the songs they play when they get on tranceairwaves...and I like their productions...but I've also noticed a marked difference in mixing from them as compared to other big name djs.

eitherway, I still haven't seen them and I want to, so hopefully they moesy on over to the desert known as vegas and rock out. or else I have to drive over to SF...and that takes a long time.

Well, it wasn't bad, but IMHO, no where near "great" either.

I just don't like their music, cuz I'm a commercial cheesy trance guy :)

There seems to be two groups who go to see G&D....

Those are are very critcal of the music...these people tend to be very hard on them.

Those who go to have a great time and just enjoy some great music....these people tend to love their gigs...

Not saying this is the case with you guys...but in the past I've seen people who say nothing but great things about their songs, remixes, track selection in mixes, etc...then when they see them live and well...after they actually play the tunes they've played in their mixes or play their remixes or own productions, they often come away "not feeling it."

It's like people expect them to be completely different.

i love their tracks but i gotta say it was quite a let down...expected a lot more...the last hour was just phenomenal...for some reason they didnt seem as comfortable as they were in sf earlier this year..

When you say in SF earlier this year, do you mean January or March? Because the two gigs are like night and day. They kicked ass in March compared to January...mainly because they just built their setup up a lot faster.

jan..and honestly dont remember much ccause i was smashed outa ma mind...just remember they were enjoying themselves a lot more than in l.a...

relatively dave seamen was awesome 2 weeks ago at circus.. dont hold that aginst me ...im just a dave seamen freak...

I feel open to all live performances. I really feel that you never 'know' an artist until you see them live.

I had only heard a few of their mixes, in fact the live ones that are linked on this site. I didn't know what to expect, but it just wasn't that great.

Now I had never listened to Armin (at least to my knowledge) before I went to see him, and I freaking loved his show.

They just didn't seem to 'elevate' the crowd in any way. Just my opinion.
