Spurious George pissed off a lot of women today

Over 1.15 million women (and a few men) marched today in Washington to protest George Bush's Fundamentalist policies against family planning, OTC emergency contraception, and comprehensive sex education that lead to thousands of women's deaths annually worldwide.

It was the largest march ever on Washington (and US history) placing it ahead of a Vietnam War protest in 1969 that attracted 600,000 attendees, and also ahead of Martin Luther King Jr’s famous "March on Washington" where he gave his famous "I have a dream speech."

There were men and women from dozens of world countries in attendance as well.

I'm so proud of all my sisters today, for they know if Bush is reelected thousands more women will die.

A U.S. federal law banning a controversial abortion method will be challenged in court trials in three separate cities as unconstitutional on March 29, 2004 because it could put the health of expectant mothers at risk. Abortion providers will argue in New York, San Francisco and Lincoln, Nebraska, that the law wrongfully ignores a U.S. Supreme Court (news - web sites) requirement that abortion bans contain exceptions that allow the procedure if a woman's health is in danger.
