How many of you can honestly say you listen to ONLY EDM? You've found it and you're never gonna return to any of the other genres you listened to before? I used to think I did, but that's completely impossible. Recently I've been searching for music old and new of any genre, and it's mind blowing how good each of them are in their own way.
Radiohead
Death Cab For Cutie
U2
Depeche Mode
New Order
Coldplay
Hoobastank
The Strokes
The Postal Service
Foo Fighters
Rooney
Pink Floyd
Staind
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Smashing Pumpkins
The Beatles
The Beach Boys
Rolling Stones
Kansas
John Lenon
Eric Clapton
The list could go on forever!
I'm not saying I'm getting tired of EDM, EDM is my absolute favorite above all, but there's so much more out there. I think people need to stop having this ignorant "underground only" ego and enjoy what the rest of the world has to offer too.
Music, I love it... |

| EDM is pretty much all that I listen to. If I listen to anything else, it will be something old, like from 5 to 10 years ago. I have stopped listening to the radio altogether. |

| I primarily only listen to EDM, but I still listen to other music on occasion. I like some of the bands that you listed, but it is more songs by them than the artist as a whole. I have been a fan of U2's since the 80's. They have changed with the times and they have put out some amazing songs over the years. I rarely ever listen to the radio so I honestly have no clue what is out there. I couldn't tell you what songs are at the top of the Billboard charts. I will always be fond of music from the 80's whether it be new wave or classic rock. I like music from groups like Enigma as well. I went to see 311 last year with some friends and I was impressed with the bands energy. The vibe from the crowd reminded me of going to see one of my favorite DJ's. |

I don't know your reasons for not listening to other genres aside from what I'm assuming to be personal preference, but do you have any desire at all to explore non-electronic genres? |

Oh no don't get me wrong, I hate the radio also. I dread waking up every morning because I catch a ride to school with friends, and they listen to that top 40 mainstream bull.
I'm talking about other artists who actually put feeling into their music. May be well known but you know they make their stuff with heart and soul.
The thing with EDM is that it never "connects" with me. Sure it sounds good, and it gives me a good feeling, but the lyrics that come with non EDM tracks are so dead on it's amazing. Reasurring even, to know that someone else has been in the exact place you are. |

| Yep only EDM at this point. One of the reasons why I enjoy EDM is because of its relative impersonality. ;) |
