Hi everyone !
Im a new comer to Emagic Logic and im finding my self a bit frustrated trying to get things to work smoothly. I feel a bit lost at the moment and after reading all the internet tutorials I can get my hands on , all i can think of is "Buy a book on the topic" but which one should i get.
This is where you come in.
Can some of you out there please recommend some books on Logic 5 that would take me through setting things up properly all the way through completing a recording including FX's VSTi'S and Audio.
Thanks alot for any light you can shed on this area
Cheers ! |

The manual is a good place to start
The Logic FAQ @ http://logicfaq.omega-art.com/ is good but in all honesty if "after reading all the internet tutorials I can get my hands on" you can't use plugins yet I would suggest you try somthing a little simpler perhaps Fruity Loops or Reason maybe Making Waves, Tracktion. You could even buy a copy of Computer Music magazine and every month they have a CD with a complete soft studio solution included in the price, hell, you could even rip off the CD with out shelling out the 5 quid 50 if you are so inclined.
Good luck. |

Thanks for the replys
By the way i already know how to use VSTi's in Logic
I just know that with this program there is alot that I and even YOU dont even know that you dont even know about VSTi's and all other things that logic deals with.
Unless of course you designed this program, in that case i may be mistaken.
Im sure even the most fluent logic users are still learning new things.
I just want a way to make sure that get exposure to more than just the obvious.
Cheers :) |

OK I am sorry.
All I am saying is if you get these books you will just be paying money for info that is already on the net. Money which would be better going to software developers than people who decypher manuals for people.
The info is at the Logic FAQ page URL already given.
Learn about the transform tool and automation.
What do you want to know? |

Print out a list of all the key commands used and unused, this helps learning what the program can do and how to do it quickly. |

Does anyone know where you can buy Logic 5 from?, because I see places like Digital Village and Turnkey don't sell it anymore, since Logic 6 is only Mac based |

Thanks for the tid bit on the Key commands empty-1 that is something very much worth doing.
Here is a question i could use some help with.
When i play notes quickly (every 32nd fast, tempo 140) I dont hear all the notes being played. This happens with every intstrument that i use No matter the polyphony setting or anything to do with the instrument. The strange part is that on the transport display where it says what midi notes are being played all the notes i play are present.
I have never had this problem when using reason so i cant see it be anything other than to do with Logic and its settings.
Anything thing that would help get me pointed in the right direction here would really be appreciated, Thanks. |

Sounds like the attack on your synth is too slow but you have tried various patches and synths so this doesn't sound right. Best bet is to try one of the Logic forums, try www.sonikmater.com, thay may be able to help you. |
