also happens to be the best anime series ever.

I, actually, think that Cowboy Bebop has the best dub out there.

Just your opinion about the "best anime ever". I can think of at least a handful of anime that could be considered "best ever".

Saying that an anime is best ever is like trying to say a song is the best ever. way too many divisions!

Im sure Sothis would edumacate you if she ever came here ^_^

speaking of anime, i consider Akira to be right up there, and Rouroni Kenshin is one of my fav series

Out of the Anime I've checked out (hasn't been a ton I can say that), Berserk has been the best. Lovely serries IMO.

I believe that Hero's being released w/ subs similar to what they did when Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was released...

Christopher Doyle did a great job with the photography. The look of the film is what excels it, battle sequences and all.. The use of colour is great.

Also, the Hero dvd at Amazon, I wouldn't suggest buying it from their. That one is porely compressed (4.7 gb transfer only). There's another Region 0 release which is DVD-9 (7.4 gb transfer). That's the one to get, it Superbit quality with DTS.. Much high resolution. Mirimaxe is holding on to that one until the movie comes out of theaters, but you can find it on ebay.

I like the dubbed Cowboy Bebop too. But it could be because I saw it before I saw the subbed. Same with Trigun. Inu Yasha is probably the closest adaptation between the Japanese and English voice acting I've heard. Witch Hunter Robin on Cartoon Network Adult Swim was unwatchable to me after seeing the subbed before hand. Its like they just didn't give a damn.

As for Hero, I hope they keep it subbed. Even when they use the original actors for dubbing, it still sounds off. Thats why I chose the subbed Crouching Tiger when it came to DVD. Hero looks awesome.

Yeah Jet Li is kickass. Gotta love the Wong Fei Hong movies (Once Upon A Time In China), I got the theme song as my ringtone. Some of Jackie Chan's old stuff is good too, like Drunken Master.

I saw that dubbed WHR on cartoon network and couldnt friggin believe. It also looks like they downgraded the quality of the picture.

Berserk was INSANE. I bought the Box of War. there NEEDS TO BE A SECOND SEASON.

The Samurai X -> Reflection etc movies of Kenshin are wild , still working on the series, up to episode 60 or something

loved Trigun too. Womanizing drunkard. I can relate to him hehe.

Heres a list of ones ive seen and would recommend

Akira

Berserk (hard to describe)

Blood of the Last Vampire

Blue Gender (tight idea, also explores human relationships)

Cowboy Bebop + Knockin on Heavens Door movie

Evangelion + End of Evangelion (Interesting series , im sure youve heard that end kind of sucked, but still worth the rest of the series to watch)

Escaflowne the movie (watch this and youll be perfectly sad. beautiful movie)

Ghost in the Shell

Hellsing (badass, short series, but insanely compressed badassness)

Jin-Roh (Youll only watch this a few times in your life, but each time...intense drama exploring psyche of a military killer and revolutionaries. Post WWII Japan, but this time the Germans had won.)

Kenshin (All the Kenshins...you better be tough when watching these...and alone)

Kenshin - Reminiscence [a.k.a. Kenshin - Tsuikohen]

Kenshin - Seisouhen

Last Exile (AMAZINGLY drawn)

Mononoke Hime

Naruto (Funny and creative. Everything just works. Ninja lad training to become a master.)

Ninja Scroll

Perfect Blue (Mind Screw)

Serial Experiments:Lain (another mind screw)

Spriggan (tight)

Trigun (drunk womanizer. some wild happens. The boys got skills)

Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust (beautiful and touching. With some crazy vampire fighting.)

Witch Hunter Robin

Wolf's Rain (really original idea. Wolves searching for paradise. Can look like humans to people though. Incredibly strong.)

me surprised at how much anime Orbax has seen..

getting back to topic.
other than what has been mentioned, another reason the movie is so fecking the e. is the acting. Tony Leung (Broken Sword), Maggie Cheung (Flying Snow). WOW:eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: . the other actors are not bar per say, but they steal the show. perfect couple. if you like them in Hero, see In the Mood for Love. not action, romance but definately worth the watch. if the movie does make it to the states i am so there. 10/10
