lets see
CDJ1000mkII(I assume is the model you meant) $1149.00 -$150.00 rebate = $1000.00
CDJ800 - was $649.00 now $599.00
NEITHER, hehehehehehe
I'd spend a bit more and get Numark CDX1.
Cheers... |

The simple answer: No.
The long answer: I would buy a Denon DN-S5000. It's cheaper than the Mk2 and better in certain ways. Also, $1150 for a 1000Mk2 is an insane price. If you DO buy anything, go to www.agiprodj.com , the guy there will offer you great prices. For example, the 1000Mk2 there costs $900 or so before rebate, so $750 after rebate. The DN-S5000 is about $650 there.
I do recommend you look into the S5000, it has some very cool features that the CDJ1000Mk2 doesn't have, and it gets updated by the Denon crew through software available on their website, which is a huge plus in my opinion. Unlike Pioneer that find some little things wrong and then release a Mk2 model, lol.
It also has a spinning platter which is way cooler if you like vinyl TTs. |

I purchased 2 Denon S3000's for $1000.00. They have everything I need and were the price of 1 cdj1000...
You might want to wait until the technics cd player comes out... |

The DN-S3000 are great too. $1000 isn't the price of one Mk1000, but DN-S3000 are really much cheaper than it, even if not half price.
And by cheaper it certainly doesn't mean lesser. So I hope you enjoy your S3000's, they're great pieces of hardware :)
As for the Technics CD Player, if you're talking about the current one, it's their first CD Player, so I wouldn't give them too much credit for it, not against companies like Pioneer, Denon and Numark that have already had several CD Players. I've also heard that it's very expensive for it's abilities, and that it has nothing special to it.
One thing people must realize is that analog TT's are NOTHING like CD Players. The amount of technology put into a CD Player is incredible, and it's 99% electronic, so it requires high quality components and high assembling and planning skill. Analog TTs are very simple machinery, and therefore don't require much effort. Or like a friend of mine put it, "if it can spin, it's working". That's also why if I was going the Vinyl way, I'd definitely buy used Technics, since theres not much risk to it. I would never buy used CD Players though, they're very gentle pieces of hardware. |

For the longest time I wanted to get the Denon, but everyone raves about the Pioneers so I figured I would give those a shot. Danny, shush, everytime a new product comes out your telling me to get it. I remember when you guys got the S5000's.
I guess Ill just stick with the S5000, as I initially planned, and see how much lower the prices will drop on it. |

| The scratch sound on the s5000 is weak in comparison to the cdj 1000.... But if your not gonna be doing any scratches id say the s5000 more features and software upgradable... |

Me too (though I paid a little more than $1000 for two).
My buddy bought two CDJ800 ($549+Tax-$100 rebate=$495) I paid $550 shipped for each of my Denons and I prefer it much better over CDJ80s. It has more bells and whistles for only $50 more if not the same price.
cheers
