You won't change people anymore than they can change your view. Some people do it for fun and some people are being sincere. It's a message board...an open forum. This isn't Armin's website. People come on here and put artists down all the time. Sometimes I am tempted to tell some people to f*ck off, but that is just plain stupid. They are attacking an artist...not me...so who really cares? You want to make a difference? Continue to support your artist. You don't need to create a thread bitching about it...it won't make a difference. By being nasty and hateful the only thing that you will have accomplished is that you will end up looking as bad as they do. People are going to think what they want to think regardless of what you say because it is their opinion. Aren't we all entitled to that? Whether we convey our opinion in an intelligent manner or not doesn't matter...it's still our opinion. At the end of the day Armin is still Armin van Buuren. Like him or not...he still has a load more going on than the majority of us do. If we were out there touring the world and producing music that DJ's everywhere were playing we probably wouldn't be on here bitching and moaning about how much we like or dislike him. I like Armin and I support him as an artist/DJ. I could care less if nobody else in the entire world shared that view. |

Let's break this down.
1) You say some people are ignorant and would rather make topics about how ASOT sucks. How is that being ignorant? It's called having an opinion.
2) You continue by saying that there are limits, and there are mods for that. You're implying that if you were a mod you would close down anti-ASOT threads. In the first sentence (not to mention the rest of this thread) you're talking about how you dislike the anti-ASOT sentiments people have, then you talk about thread control. This leads me to believe that you would rather people stick to your own ideals than having (and stating) an opinion contrary to your own.

Well if you haven't given us reason to take you seriously, it would seem the fault would lie mostly on your end. As I said before, you don't give us any reasons as to WHY we shouldn't be bashing ASOT. That's the way intelligent debate goes. You don't just state your opinion (as you've done), you state your opinion and back it up with facts or reasoning. You've provided neither.
