I tend to drop down the bass instrument frequencies around 300Hz, as I've learnt that muddiness often can be found from that specific frequency area. I also use a freeware reverb VST, called DX Reverb Light (there is also a payware version, but for me the light version is good enough). I like that reverb much more than FLP's own reverb.
