Should I take it? I already have 2 Tech 1200s and I'm looking for a third turntable to use for acapellas etc. I tried it out and it had decent torque and it held it's pitch well. It also comes with a headshell and brand new cartridge too (some crappy brand, but it has a new stylus).

What do you guys think?

I didn't even know there was a XL1800, but if its like the PT2100, or just has some good torque, I would go for it, if your only looking to use it for acapellas, it should do you fine, and 50 bux is nothing, I say go for it.

Actually it's 75$ Canadian, I just converted it into American dollars. Yeah it's a 1200 knock off, one of the older models. I'm also thinking of mixing techno with this deck too, not just acapellas. Any more advice would be appreciated!

Actually here's a photo of the thing... it's the biggest photo I could find of it.

Pitch +- 8%...

well if you wanna do some mixing with it, just check to make sure it does hold pitch by checking the dots on the platter, 75 stilla in't bad.

I started on this deck.. (or an earlier model that looked exactly like it) about 15 years ago.. they didnt hold pitch very well..

Me thinks they sux...

just 1 mans opinion.

do you have any specs on it, like torque, would be nice to know what torque it is, I can't find anything anywhere, its like the thing never existed.

I wish I had some info too... I did a search before but found nothing as well, that's why I thought I'd post something on TA seeing if anyone used/has these decks... considering these were discontinued as long as 10 years ago makes you wonder about their quality... although if it has lasted 10 years you could say it actually is quite reliable...

in all honesty, in the amount of time you spent making and replying to this thread, you could have gone out and made $50 US to buy the damned thing. if its that cheap, go for it. its a great way to throw in acapellas, and what the hell, its only $75 canadian.

go! godspeed!
