Best remixing methods?

Basically, I have friend who is really keen on getting into remixing and I was wandering what the preferred methods are?

I mean, ideally a program that clips each layer of song and lets you import it into a sequencer or reason or something like that would be ideal but does it exist?

What programs and methods do you all use?

Thanks for the help! He wants to start remxing so bad that hes tearing his hair out and almost mine too! haha

there is no "method" to making a remix, and no u cant just take a song, and split it into individual tracks, thats close to imposible. u ahve to choose the elements u like about the track, and either remake them urself or find them on the internet somewhere, (or do it legally and have the samples sent to u). then u just take the bits u like, and arrange them into a tune using ur own elements along side it to compliment the original. U can just completely remake the whole thing, or just use the vocals from the original, (if u can find them), or use the same lead part, etc etc etc. there is no specific way of doing it. its not as simple as that lol. also, there is no point even tryin to make a remix if you dont produce already. start off making ur own tracks. then when u know a bit more, start remixing if u still want to :)

yeah, thats what i thought.

my mate seemed pretty certain that there was a program out there which was designed for remixing. i've heard it from two seperate people but i still don't know what the program actually does. its probably just a sequencer which makes it a little easier to remix songs. have no idea how tho.

i produce my tracks myself but this guy doesn't have much of a history in music producing of any kind so hes looking for a program that makes it all easier for him. ah well, ill have to get him on reason then.

if there is a remixing program out there, i havnt heard of it, a remix is simply a fusion of the original melody/style/flava with ur own melody/syle/flava. i cant think how there could be a program out there to make it easier? Remix Pro 2000! lol i dont think so

Don't use Remix Pro 2000

It takes the fun out of remixing... Use your own ideas... It will be a lot more interesting and fun
