Have any of you seen Christopher Lawrence or Dj Micro spin live? The reason I ask is they are coming to town in February and I was thinking about going (If I do go it will be my first RAVE :p ) It is the release party for Christopher's new CD "United States of Trance"! It is about a 2 hour drive from my town... Is it worth the drive? Any comments would be excellent :)

Yes Man, I know Christopher Lawrence from his Mixes and they are very very good indeed! His Trance is very Powerful and strong, sometimes Mysterious and Dark !! If you get his new CD, could you send me a copy...:)) ?? DJ Micro I don't know at all. heard of him once on a Page but not more...But if you have the chance to see Christopher Lawrence live, then don't miss that !! Try to look for his Sound on Napster, "Trilogy Part One" is very strong Album !!

I have a DJ Micro's album here at home and the mixing job is ok .. nothing fabulous .. but he's not bad ;)

christopher is well worth the 2 hour drive in my book iv seen him live a few times and hes does spin some nice live sets , usually pretty hard and dark trance. micro is good also but i think he is becoming more mainstream but if you havent seen him live either go !!!

I saw Christopher Lawrence about 2 months ago, and I was quite impressed. So I would definately recommend taking the trip.

c. lawrence. c. lawrence. i would go to this simply for micro. his mixing isnt some feat of superhuman powers but if u want high energy trance with slammin beats this would be the place. i wish i could be seeing him in CO on the 20th, but...peace.

Thanks for the replies! High energy, hard trance (just my style) Sounds like it should be a good show... Ill let you all know how it turns out :D :D

till next time...

One more thing, would you compare C. Lawrence's sets to Tiesto/Corsten or Sasha/Digweed style? I prefer the harder style of Tiesto/Corsten than I do the progressive Sash/Dig style... latah

Heh I wouldnt really call tiesto or corsten hard at all but yes lawrence is definetely harder than sasha, digweed, tiesto, and corsten. I normally don't like to listen to Lawrence's sets at home but at a party it's absolutely awesome hard beats. Of course his set is going to be as good (or bad) as his new cd since he'll prolly spin a lot of from it.

I also saw micro live twice and he is one of my favorite US djs. He also typically spins hard trance and throws in some decent uplifting and epic tunes every once in a while. Check out his microtech 2 cd. It's rediculously good. Damn that sounds like a kickass party ... wish i could go.

dj micro is a local dj here in new york.. and i havnt seen him spin live YET but his new cd "djmixed.com" isn't a bad one and if i judged him on that cd i can tell ya he cant be all that bad. so check it out. :)

Shy, if you don't go you might as well shoot yourself. DJ Micro plays a very unique style of trance, especially at massives, and Christopher Lawrence's sets (live, again) are very emotional, yet pumping at the same time. You'd be a fool to miss them !

i just thought i would say that you should never judge a dj on his/hers cd's or recorded live mixes. always see them play out live. a true dj, which christopher lawrence is, plays to the crowd and reacts to the crowds reactions. if the party is slammin he will slam it but if not he will play some deeper stuff. he is a quality dj. micro is whatever, plays pretty brainless music. the other thing is that this music has to be heard loud on a solid system. tracks you wouldn't like on a cd take on a new meaning when you here them the way they are supposed to be heard-at full volume. you here it all, plus the sub-bass which isn't heard on most home/car systems. one example is the pascal f.e.o.s. remix of azzido da bass-dooms night. listen at home and it's ok but put it on a fat system and you have a riot on your hands.
