Question (Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun)???

| I saw somewhere that Gabriel and Dresden did a mix of Southern Sun using the alternative lyrics (those featured in the tiesto mix). However my question is what is this mix called and where can i find it - I got the Album and single mixes and have heard the G&D 'Unplugged' mix (which i can see no difference to that which is featured on the album - is there some difference or are these one in the same?). Please can someone shed some light on this for me :conf: |

| the original version of the gabriel & dresden mix (aka gabriel & dresden demo mix or gabriel & dresden unreleased mix) can only be found as a liveset rip, unlike the unreleased tiesto mix, the g&d demo/unreleased mix was never leaked, i know that cobalt knows more about this one |

Yup, like montana said, it's only available in set rip form (outside of Gabriel & Dresden's studio archives, at least).
The rip I have differs from the released Gabriel & Dresden Mix in a couple of ways other than the obvious change in lyrics. First there's the background "vocal howl" sample, the same as found about halfway through the Solar Stone Chillout Mix (around 4:35). Second, there are a couple effects manipulating the main vocal that were apparently not repeated on the final vocals (unfortunately, because they sounded cool).
Also, the vocal used in the Gabriel & Dresden Demo is actually a different cut entirely than the one in the Tiesto Unreleased Mix, though they do share the same lyrics. In the Demo Mix she's a bit more draggy and indistinct in her voice, a delivery that just drips with melancholy (perhaps too much; I think the one in the Tiesto Unreleased Mix is best).
And the Solar Stone Chillout Mix is just a mess of lyrics from all the rest. I'm pretty sure it contains different vocal cuts altogether. If not, then it's an amazing cut-up. |

What's the difference between the Tiesto 'unreleased' mix and the standard Tiesto mix?
Also, what do you think of the 2004 fatkid mix? |

| A few different lyrics in the unreleased mix and the 'breaks' part of the tune lasts longer at the breakdown :) |
