TA used to be just 4 or 5 subforums called:
Chill Out Room
Music Discussion
Up Coming Events
Party Reviews
etc.
(this was around 2000 and earlier)
most of the users were based primarily in Toronto at the time. about 6 months - 1 year later an influx of international users as well as users from MTL started posting on the forums. Soon some users started requesting for their own regional forums since the Up Coming Events forum featured events in TO which would have been irrelevant to users in Europe and elsewhere. Some users also wanted a forum where they could converse in their own language..
thus the regional forums were born..

jamais j'aurais penser que sa avais commencer comme sa ... moi j't'ai ici kan mtl a commencer ... mais sa m'a pris au moins 1 ans avant de commencer a poster ( je trouvais que fast était épeurant comme mod ! lol )
