Question - Steam???

So I got a question that I hope someone can help me out with.

I brought half-life like 5 years ago when I got hold of my top of the range PIII 450Mhz (hehe - it was top of the range then - not so sure now though!). Anyhow I only just recently decovered the delight of 'Steam'(like in the last month) - before that I'd never played Counterstrike or Day of Defeat (I didn't know what I was missing).

Anyhow - I now have Steam with Half-Life installed on my laptop (cause I can play it via my wireless router anywhere in my house). But I just brought the Counterstrike Condition Zero cause I heard it had good bots and could be played offline.

Now I want to install CZ on my laptop and use the bots when I'm not able to connect to Steam, but I'd also like to install Steam on my home machine so that I could have LAN games.

Now my question is will I be able to do this (cause I have already used my key for Half-Life on my laptop). If I now go and install CZ on my laptop will this mean that I have registered both keys on my one machine and I will not be able to use the keys on other machines.

What I would ideally like to do is have the Half-life install on my home desktop (I've now upgraded from my PIII 450) using that key and then have the CZ installed on my laptop.

How does the key thing work - does it just mean that two users cannot be connected at one time to Steam with the same key? Therefore in theory could I just install both machines with the same key but only ever use one at a time to connect to the server? Will this effect LAN games though? For LAN games do you still need unique keys cause you didn't with the standard half-life multiplayer?

Additionally, if I remove steam from my laptop and then install CZ, will I still have access to play games suchas Day of Defeat and Team Fortress?

Any help is appreciated on this cause I've held of installing CZ until I fully understand the implecations :-)

You should be fine as long as you don't try to run both games at once with the same key. All that should happen then is the second one that tries to connect will get a CD-Key In Use, Please Try Again Later
