Note to mods - please dont close this thread as Im asking a question about a legitimate pay-per-download site.
Anyway, here goes. Ive just registered with beatport and I was about to put in my credit card details when I noticed an option along the lines of
"Choose format - mp3 mp4 wav" (ie 3 option boxes)
my question is this: if you pay for a track, can you either
1. download in wav format
or
2. get beatport to burn it on a cdr from wav format so there is no loss of quality?
presumably if you download in wav format thats the original wav rip of the vinyl/cdr and NOT an mp3 converted to wav?

you should ask this in the beatport forums mate! or e-mail them! and reding the faq is useful too. they're really helpful and nice you know!
but you can't download wavs from the site. they burn them to a cdr from the original wav file, not converted from mp3s. but they are burned as data though (because of some weird legal issues or something), not audio, so you have to copy them to your harddrive and burn an audio cd of them to play it on a normal cd-player. one track costs always $1.99 when it's wav plus there are the shipping costs which are ing mental i've heard. that's what they told to me/i've learned browsing their site. i'm still waiting for them to get better/cheaper shipping and then i'll order the wavs away! :D ;) |

yeah, the reason im asking for wavs is that the sound quality is much better...
are all the mp3 in 192 or can you get better bit rates? |
