Hi,

I was wondering which is the best 61-note controller (not too expensive) for VST instruments (and perhaps also mixing in Cubase SX). Anybody has experience with the Evolution MK-461C, M-Audio Radium 61 or Keystation 61es, Roland PCR-80, any others. Which one is the best for VST instruments and mixing in Cubase SX and why?! How do they compare (pro, cons) as they all seem to do the same thing?! How good is the quality of the keys? Do they all cost around the same price?!

PS: the Keystation 61es is new, but it seems to have almost no buttons or sliders compared to the others? Does that make it less interesting?

Thanks in advance for all good feedback!

The PCR has extensive MIDI routing capabilities. You can independently assign any of the 27 controls to different messages, different channels, & even choose whether a message is sent through USB, through the MIDI out jack, or both.

The PCR can control sequencers, software synthesizers, hardware modules, or any peripheral designed to respond to MIDI messages. The assignable nature of the PCR makes it ideal for any software MIDI applications because no direct support is required on behalf of the software. This allows the PCR to remain a powerful part of your home studio regardless of the MIDI application you choose or version you run.

and it looks good too :D

I like my M-audio Radium 61!
The kobs feel great and solid. The keys do too and play very smooth. It just works great with Reason and Cubase.

How does the Evolution MK-461C compare to the Radium 61, as both are being distributed by M-Audio if I am correct?!

Also, somebody told me that most of these controllers let you program things with dedicated software that comes with them? What exactly is there to program? Does the Radium 61, etc.. have this?
