New Blasterworm Virus Type Thingy

| i got a fone call from my friend this morning telling me to shut his PC down as it was left on... he works at a PC service centre, and hes been flooded with fone calls regarding a new virus.. apparently it is like the blaster worm.. and is called w32.sasser. go get yourself checked out at symantec.com i tested clean, but better safe than sorry :) apparently its a little tougher than the blaster worm :) |

If u update ur windows OS on a reg basis then the sasser worm won't affect u
Microsoft identified this one and released an update quite a while back

Yes, Microsoft released a patch to prevent against this vulnerability on April 10th, I believe. It's nearly a month later now... |

Exactly, I've known this worm was going widespread for about a week now. I've had the update since the day it released, sooner or later people are going to realize that the updates really are important.
Although, none of this would be necessary if Microsoft produced a better product... |

| i got the worm, i got the update, worm gone, gotta deal with the damage left behind. not a lot really.. just my desktop is a little screwed up. my aston shell trial expired and it wont let me go to old windows xp, or uninstall it. can someone help me with that? |
