Hey guys, I'm writing because, since about a month or so my comp restarts for no aparent reason, even if I have just turned it on and leave for a while, what could it be? also I instaled a software and it instaled 2 other progs, I unistaled the progs but when I ctrl alt delete I see them runing, is there a way to take them out? (no they aren't in the startup folder) I heard somewere that they run at startup because they do something in the registry, please help :wtf:

I hate this restarting :whip:

video drivers do that sometimes as well as fresh proggies. if its something cancerous like Real Player, uninstall it, then run regedit and do an f3 search for it and delete every instance of it. then restart.

It *might* be over heating, and you can dl free proggies that monitor it, but i doubt thats it. Usually just your vid ref going out of whack.

Probably something with your power supply.

nope, no power supply probs, the only thing i've intsalled recently is WS FTP, wich I think it installed a time and date proggie. (which are the ones runing in the background) I have never gone into the registry would it be easy to find the progs?

Go to run
type "regedit" (without the " ")
Open the menu HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Open software
Open Microsoft
Open Windows
Open Current Version
Open Run folder

once you are there delete any registry that looks unusual.

if any. If not run an anti virus and if not format

go to control panel>administrative tools> event viewer and look for all the red circles with ! in them
