I have a bunch of live sets that I have downloaded and they are all 128 bit sampled.
In general, are any live sets (Radio One / Ministry of Sound /etc. ) available on CD ? (and I don't mean the mp3s that I already have on a cd-r)
Most of my mp3 collection is at 256 bits, and its a little disappointing to hear the 128, I would like to buy these so that I can rip them properly.

Dude, we don't sell that kind of stuff here, we share it. All you have to do is ask somebody and they'll hook you provided you have a fast connection and they do as well to make things go faster. Most live sets aren't available on CD. The only ones I can think of are Tiesto's Magik 6+7.
Peace and welcome :D |

Of course - I wouldn't have the sets if I didn't have them shared with me :-D, but at the same time I would like to support the artists, as well as get rips of higher than 128, so if I can kill 2 birds with one stone...
So, you got any good trance at 256 :) ?

Look at regular record stores online if you want to buy them.
A note to everyone: Don't make the liveset situation even more publicly known than it is. Sales for non-licensed sets are ILLEGAL, globally. Sharing or personal recording falls in a gray area of legality (at least in the US).
And you know, what'll happen if they become more well known: record companies will sick their lawyers (even if they don't have any DJs signed here) and MAKE them illegal (so they can suck more money out of us). That will make the music situation far worse here, since we can't recieve ANY live DJ shows over the radio. It'll be a complete media dictatorship.
Keep it quiet, use programs like morpheus and don't be a lazy mofo asking to sell them instead of finding them yourself PLEASE! |

I don't think you understand. I am not trying to be a "lazy mofo" as you call me. If you read my posts, i.e. not be a lazy mofo yourself - you will understand that.
I specifically said that I DON'T want to buy a CD-R off of someone, I want to buy an ORIGINAL CD so that hopefully some $$ gets back to the artist.
I am pretty heavy downloader of music, but I _always_ buy the CDs of the songs that I like, so that the artists that produce the work that I enjoy get rewarded and encouraged to make even more music that I like.
I just don't understand why there is this hostility toward me when I am trying to do my part so that great guys get something for their work.
I mean these guys gotta pay rent and buy food just like the rest of us, and I think it will be a HUGE loss if the Paul Van Dyks and Dj Tiestos of the world have to stop playing music and get regular jobs because they don't make money.

| Dude, what the HELL(!!!) are you talking about??? How is buying a CD from someone on this forum going to get money somehow sent to the artist's pocket exactly?? Yeah, yeah...it's real noble of you to wanna support the artists...but if you're really that concerned about PVD and Tiesto having to get 'regular' jobs (which is a pretty ridiculous notion if you actually attempted to think about it!)...then go and launch a tirade against the record companies....because THEY are the ones who end up keeping over $12 from a $16 CD. WHy don't you tell them to be a little less greedy and cut their profit from 500% to...oh..say, 350%! That way we'll buy more CD's, they'll still be ripping us off and making a ton of money, and you won't have to worry about seeing PVD at your next drive-thru. I really don't mean to rip you, man - but you're really naive if you think that buying CD's supports the artist/singer/songwriter! The only people you are really supporting are the record companies...and that's all! |
