One night they spot you on the street in your skibbies trying to sell your shoes. You tell them who you are, but they nail you. Then she happens by and she says " Christ you look ed", she says "Hang tough!". But you don't say anything, you just think "what a bum rat for a nice, sensitive guy like me".

yeah exactly. i was just listening to this the other day, stopped my work, and sat and listened very closely to every lyric.. in weird :eyespop: |

the "you are sleeping" voice is also used in The Smiths' "Rubber Ring" and in 3rd Bass' "Triple Stage Darkness" -- it comes from an experiment scientists did in the '70s analyzing random unintelligible sounds that we hear during phone conversations and the like...
i don't know for sure where the monologue comes from but it sounds like a performance artist named Joe Frank who does offbeat stuff on npr and on pacifica stations like nyc's wbai |

i think it is skivvies as i believe skivvies means underwear.

I think it is rap. or is it wrap?. has something to do with getting caught by the police.
