ok 1st things 1st ...

Detective ... you're weird !! lol

2nd

I'll say like everybody else: Clubs and raves are two worlds appart from each others just by their crowds ... and even the music differs from one to the ohter

I mean

Raves are ( most part of them anyway ) more harder and/or cheesier.
While clubs are more commercial ( i mean everybody can go so they can't give them the same uk hardhouse bukll as in raves )

Anyway

I "heart" Clubs !!

Rave are not for me...
when I go to Aria it's for the DJ and the music.

Yeh ill say like everyone else, afterhours and raves is not the same thing. But what would best describe a rave then?Cuz yeah afterhour is more "club" like, cuz i see some people in there wearing their Mexx shirt with freakin diesel jeans and then expecting not to sweat?!?!And the dj's in afterhours are rarely unheard of,so yeh its more commercial.A rave,u know what to expect, its hardcore techno/trance/house for 14 hours and +.The drugs, yeah i guess theres a lot of it in raves, but dat doesnt mean u absolutely have to take it to enjoy the music in a rave, helps some to enjoy the moment but its not an obligation.Cant remember who said it,but i agree with that guy that said "raves" like BEB should be called events cuz now they use the word rave to qualify an afterhour party that includes drugs, loud electronic music playing for hours and hours,a hell lot of horny people cramed into a big room.To me a rave is a huge ass party OUTSIDE that last for like 2 days or something like that, now das a nosty rave (love parade, the biggest and sickest of them all,fo sho im goin, and Ibiza, the girls, the sun...the girls, hope i get enough dough to go this summer).
Psy-Trancer
ppl often consider aria a rave...retard ppl anywyas...which i dunno i dont really care...but when i was going to BEB...i said that is a raver u ******s..lol.....i love the night life..i wish i was guestlist all the time if im in the mood after clubbing i can just go and listen to some good quality music at aria...aw well...

the word afterhours literally means what it says, there's no hidden meaning behind it.

When I tell people I go to afterhours, their first assumption is that I'm a drug addict.

A lot of my friends are also scared to go, thinking they'll get raped or basically just scared of the unknown.

Afterhours has its association with raves because of the fact that both last all night long, but there are a lot of differences which people who aren't familiar with the scene just wouldn't know.

And this association with rave, right away makes people think of drugs, thinking Aria is a 'Drug warehouse'.
Afterhours are more about the clubbing athmosphere, yet in a place where music can be enjoyed fully.

That was my 2cents

i dont know why people fear afterhours

i think bad things tend to happen more in bars where alcohol is served

Very very very very true - like last week for example, when 2 chix decided to fight in the middle of the street and it then got to their boyfriends and then ended up with a cab's windows being smashed down - dont we love watchin this?
p.s: i was one of the persons who thought that afterhours = drugs - guess i was wrong and until people experience it or hear bout them, they wont know the difference....

Oh, and Jay, i think i may know why people fear afterhours. They know that alcohol is not served, so, they think that people that go there HAVE to replace the alcohol by somethin else, Drugs and/or take somethin that will keep them up till 10:00 a.m and because they are not familiar with drugs or drug environments, they fear afterhours - je pense...

Because after hours people can speak strange languages and wear t-shirts that resemble each other!:happy2:
