| How bad is the bandwidth problem with USB soundcards? THey are better in terms of no RF noise, but like a USB Audiophile, what kind of difference does it truly make? |

hi sufee_b
this is why
usb 1.1 does not support FULL DUPLEX of sampling rates above 4800hz.
that means
you can only have 1 x input & 0 x output @ 4800hz+ (half duplex)
or either
you can have 0 x input & 1 x output @ 4800hz+ (half duplex)
but you can not can this
1 x input 1 x output @ 4800hz+ (full duplex)
thats the limitation of usb 1.1
firewire is much better why?
it is able to operate in full duplex mode :)
but if you only require to use 1 input or 1 output at a given time
usb is fine. |
