| I know this is kinda off topic for the DJ Booth, but are they back in business? I was looking at buying some new vinyl today and dancerecords.com show that Trancesetters has a new release on the Hooj Choons label. Is anyone familiar with this at all? |

Dear hooj.commer,
When our parent company Hooj Choons went down in Sept last year, we told you all that it would be business as usual around these parts up until a relaunch in the new year. Well friends, a bit later than planned, that time has now come.
As from Thursday 14th April, the hooj.com site will be reborn as city16.com. (With adverts etc. not kicking in until the next day, you'll be the first to get a good look around, so we look forward to your feedback).
all existing user names and passwords will be transferred
all outstanding promo credits will be transferred.
all first orders from registered hooj.com users will be subject to a 20% discount!
All the current hooj.com catalogue - physical and digital - will of course be found at city16.com.
But there will be all sorts of added content, much of which will hopefully be of some interest to you.
There'll be a new 'Breaks' section headed up by Manchester breakster / Key 103 man / Shownoshame jock Glover, with occasional promo nuggets from the scenes' main players (The promo service itself will also expand to include more eclectic / leftfield tunes - look out for Audio Bullies and Alexander Robotnick tracks in the next fortnight.)
The techno section will now include 'Detroit etc', as we add lots of UR / Carl Craig / Basic Channel type goodies. There'll be an indie / electro page (hosted by the White Heat collective) and an urban page (with Mark Bambach) for any of you who fancy going off on a bit of a tangent.
The all new albums section will feature a gallery showing our top hundred albums - from the Velvet Underground to Curtis Mayfleld to Four Tet and beyond, all displayed for easy browsing.
Likewise a DVD section that focuses only on quality leftfield / arthouse / cult and music related movies, lovingly sourced and reviewed by our resident buffs Mr Pink and Redeye.
Redeye also oversees the book section, involving a good selection of music related titles, along side random tomes of all description - from Kerouac to Aleister Crowley to Clash biographies.
The t-shirts shop has some spanking new Alternative Route, Within and Sex On Wax tees, alongside some old school house labels, vintage / retro designs etc.
Obviously, we have no idea how relevant any of this extra content is to you, but whilst its' been a painstaking process sourcing all this new stuff, building up the house / progressive / tech and breaks sections has been a priority, as well as adding to our extensive secure downloads catalogue. Our quick turnaround, and what we hope are good customer care facilties will remain the same.
And to help ease your path from hooj.com to city16.com, all first orders from registered hooj.com users will be subject to a 20% discount!
See you there.
