ASIO Overloads Logic 5.5

No matter what I try and configure in my ASIO Driver tab on Logic 5.5.. It always overloads on bar 67 everytime for the past few days while i've been working on a song.
I have 2.6ghz pentium and 1.5 megs of ram...
I have no idea what's happening at bar 67 but something is overloading the system at this point in the song.
How do I fix the problem? Everything I've used at this part of the song is copied from earlier sections in the song.. But I dunno why, a volume level could have changed possibly. I'm not really understanding most of why all this stuff happens all the time... But it always sounds like the stuff im copying from the earlier parts are becoming quieter later on.. and maybe sometimes louder. Im not sure why the stuff wouldnt just be copied exactly at the same levels as the earlier parts.. But some stuff like kicks arent as punchy later on and stuff. So I'm pretty sure I have made some mistake that is overloading bar 67, only I don't know the first place to check to fix the problem... Nor do I know how to optimize my ASIO driver tab to it's fullest potential.
For some reason I also noticed on the audio mixer.. the output 1-2 channel at 0 or whatever that means.. is going through the red... It made me turn it way down to -7... I haven't ever seen that before cuz all of my levels on my track mixer are fine.. nothing was going through the red... but out 1-2 was. For some reason my original volume level is set to high i think... when i had to convert from pc/av or something to asio it shot my volume through the roof... its all so confusing to me. :/
I cant record my song cuz bar 67 stops playing because of the asio overload.
there isn't one new instrument that comes in at bar 67... and there's only like 4 tracks playing. something is messed up.
I have more than enough processor speed and ram. |

i just went and watched my song play while i was looking at the output1-2 channel strip. i see that the level shoots through the roof and leaves a "5.1" number in red on that channel. so its going like PLUS 5 decibles or something bad? i dunno what that means but i know its not good. how do i keep it from spiking like that? i dont know what could possibly be doing that.. everything is from earlier parts in the song... and it only spikes and overloads if i play the song from the beginning... if i just start the song from bar 62 or a few bars back from 67 and then play it... this spike doesnt happen!

can someone help me fix this problem? |

asio problems are the worst, nobody ever knows what to do. |

so you bump your thread once again to the top again
have you ever considered changing sequencer? Logic is bad you seem to have problems all the time even when having books about it, the program must really suck. |

is anyone here using a sequencer that's problem-free? obviously not.
i could have 20 more books and i'd still be riddled with problems.
did i ever say the program sucks? no, i love this program.. but sometimes like right now i have no where else to look for help except for here.
do you know how to fix this problem dezma? |

Nothing wrong with some trial and error
Anyway, the only overloads I ever had in logic were when I was msn-ing, surfing, and doing several things that you should not do while producing while being on low latency it could not sync my hardware (midi) and audio so it overloaded. Maybe try increasing the latency if your setup is sw only. I can go to 2.7 ms without any troubles, then again 90% of my sounds are produced by hardware.
I don't think the problem is in logic, maybe try another driver and see if you have the problem then.
Really, try to do some experiments you learn a lot more than asking everything. |

I always put weeks of trial and error and referring to the manuals.. or books before I try and solve my problem on the web. So if I'm here asking for help, that means I have probably put at least 200 hours of trial and error and or reading time into trying to solve whatever problem I'm currently experiencing. Sometimes I'm able to figure things out on my own after many hours of research and sometimes I'm not.
"Halo" suggested that I use ASIO to produce my songs. But When I clicked off of PC/AV and chose ASIO it asked me to convert to ASIO so I did... But my song was so incredibly loud now that when i looked on the audio mixer it was going way into the reds.. I cant monitor my song now unless I take the Output1-2 fader and slide it down to minus 7. So now my song is very quiet when I recorded just a short portion of the beginning since i cant record everything because it overloads at bar 67. Im not even sure why output1-2 is the main fader all of a sudden.. I thought the fader to the right of output1-2 the master fader is supposed to be the channel that all the sounds are coming through. |
