Its been happening lately and i think it has something to do with my CD writer. Its an LG and im using Roxio EZ CD creator. It doesnt look like theres a buffer problem, so whats the cause of the hiccups? |

Try using another program.. I had that once and it was really crap.
Also which model burner you have?. I had an LG 16X with many problems until I upgraded the firmware. Maybe look into that also. Maybe it doesn't like the media you're using.. does it do the same with other media? |

Im using an LG 48x writer with memorex media. Ive burned a ton of CD's using them, this is my 6th spindle pack so i dont think its the media since lately this problem's been happening.
Ill try updating the firmware and if that doesnt work ill try a different program
Thanks for the help :) |

| you might try slowing the speed if there is still a problem. and make sure every other program is closed, and maybe even restart before burning, but that gets annoying. |

Yup i did that. I set the speed down to 8x and closed most running tasks. The sample up above was under these conditions :( Kinda sucks. |

right click -> my computer - properties
click on hardware tab
click on device manager
click the "+" next to IDE ATA
Right click -> Properties on Primary and secondary
Click on Advanced Settings Tab
Transfer mode should be on DMA if Available
Sometimes OS's put the Secondary channel on PIO mode |

Thanks, it was already on DMA if available. Burning seems to be fine now, i guess it needed a reboot ;) |
