Slob appeal (pg. 2)

Ripped Bag
I don't like the morons who wear the straight brimmed ball caps off to the side with a bandana underneath it.

I wear caps for function and they are usually either black or blue. No logos no nothing on them and I wear them so it provides shade for my face and eyes.

I don't think its the moronic hat the women are attracted but maybe the attitude "I don't care how stupid I look dressed like this, but I like what I'm wearing cause the homies think its cool".

*shrugs*

And, what about "baggy clothes and hats" is it that eats you up inside?

Probably has something to do with the fact that girls think that guys that actually look decent are "trying" too hard, whereas the slobs appear to be nonchalant, indifferent and thus hot girls are unconsciously more attracted to them ?!?! :conf:
...I gave up trying to figure out girls a long time ago, but whatever the reason, Diginut has a point

i've noticed this phenomenon as well. my insites:

1. women are atracted to what they believe to be "bad boys", which more than often turns out to be guys that look ty. this is often affiliated with partying and random acts of stupidity.

2. this trend seems to become less powerful as women get older, because then their focus turns towards stability. those of us that actually care how we look win in the long run because of our non-slob status.

3. most of the girls that i've seen with those types of guys aren't really the type i would want to date. i won't generalize, but i don't think they would be good for a relationship.

80% of the time I wear a cap when I go out. I'm just too lazy to do my hair right and then I don't have to worry about my hair getting messed up and when I'm out. Just serves its purpose, I don't think it has anything to do with being a "slob".

I don't get all decked out, but I don't dress all ty, either. The typical Hollister/A&F kid you see at a college.

It's too early to call it a theory, since a theory would actually explain WHY the phenomenon is observed. This is really just an observation.

We're getting a little presumptuous here assuming that any of these guys are "players", don't you think? I don't even know for sure that these guys are actually getting any action, I just SEE them with those girls all the time.

And that's really the point of the question - it's not whether or not the girls like the guys or their personalities or whatever, it's why they'd want to go out and be seen in public with total slobs. It reflects badly on them, I think. All of my friends ask the same kind of question when we see it - "Geez, what is she doing with that idiot, he must be her drug dealer or something." I also think it would be wrong to say that they are the "don't care what anybody thinks" type, because they obviously very clearly care what their homies think, otherwise they wouldn't dress like that.

I have a strong suspicion that they are not players at all, and that they are just easy prey for the girls in terms of getting someone to take them out, pay for their , etc. But that remains to be proven obviously.

that's a good point, they could very easily use them.

Exactly.

What we need is the Grand Unifying Theory of Relationships which ties what you wrote above to Ladder Theory. :thepirate

Hahahaha, going for someone like that is like going to McDonalds for a fancy sit down meal (apologies to those who dress that way but who still manage to maintain some common sense and intelligence - I know I certainly have my share of baggy cargo sweats).

I just dress in whatever feels good. I like loose fitting clothes - not 5 sizes too big hanging off your ass, but loose, and baggy. Usually jeans, tho cargo sweat pants rock. Some of them look very thugged out if you wear an xxl shirt with them like an idiot would, but with a nice fitting T shirt they look pimp and are comfier than anything else in the world. Perfect travelling clothes. I don't try and look like anything other than what _I_ like. If girls either love it or hate it... well that fine with me, I couldn't care less. I don't dress myself up into someone I'm not to attract a dumb hoe who's personality is probably as fake as my cheap watch.
