I think jules rocks. Im a big fan of him and i think his style is one of a kind. Hes always entertaining and hes done alot for the dance music industry in general. One of the hardest working people in the buisness!

Jules really got me into the dance music scene. I used to hardly ever listen to the Radio back in 1998 and then one Friday night while doing work came across one of his 30min mixes.

At the time they were the dogs and I recorded all of them for about two years onto good ol' cassette tape, which I later put on Minidisc

I remember when I had my first summer in paid work and often refused to work Friday nights because I wanted to listen and record the Jules 30min mix :o

It somewhat lost the way in summer 2000 and I lost interest although I do remember thinking taking Jules off the air for Westwood on Friday night was daft!

Never seen him live although a friend did sit across from him on a BA flight back from Sydney not long ago....wow;)

He put Justin Timberlake vocals over Rank 1 - Awakening.

That was unforgivable. :(

Ok, I agree he has done a lot for the scene over the years - but hes still 75% crap now. Maybe he plays better stuff when hes abroad. It would be interesting to listen to some of them if anybody has any. Lets get in touch?

As for Seb fontain.....zzzzzzzzzzz... oh , I nodded off.

nice trackselection, bad mixing... just listen to his CD Trance Nation Anthems from 2003 with all those classics!

Tracks selection is wicked, but mixing is very bad imo. He doesn't deserve to be in top 20 of best DJ. There are so many better DJs than he is.

the thing thai i most like of Judge is the way that he interact with the crowd

hes kind of funny

I view the Judge in much the same light as Johan Gielen: not bad, but certainly hit or miss.

I normally stick up for Jules in these type of threads, but right now I really don’t have the time or inclination to do so. Suffice to say, I like him, always will have a massive respect for him, but since 2000 it’s been progressively downhill for the man. Things have been going from bad to worse. Still, he’s a legend as far as I’m concerned.

During the breakout scene of trance music, Jules was a pretty big name because of his DJ style. He and PVD shared a style that was pure energy. PVD went for emotional tunes and Jules went for joyful summer tunes. However, Jules implemented more of a "hip hop" style of DJing with scratching and using bootleg vocal remixes (ugh, missy elliot) and stuff like that. However, the crowd reaction at huge events let the crowd down and thus started the judge jules hate club
