That's right I'm a complete newbie.
I've discovered that i wanna get into vinyl, cus i was at a party the otha nite n my m8 has his own decks n he let me go on them 4 an hour, n i really enjoyed it n i know i can get better.
I'm just a bit new to the techniques n all, so i'm wondering if there are anywebsites out there with techniques 4 mixing etc, or tips on how to learn...
if not how did u learn? was it just a case of have a go, make sum stuff up, c wot sounds good n PRACTICE? |

I didn't have no DJ friends when i started out, so i watched some big name dj's, started messing around with the mixer and decks till i saw what goes with what and what doesn't, learnt to beatmatch properly and i still keep practicing almost very day!
Just play around with the mixer and decks and see what technique you feel most comfortable with. |

just do tons of daily practise
and if u have friends that mix watch closely when they are doing their stuff!
if u wonder how they do it ASK em!!! and best way is just sit together at the turntables at home mix 2 records and switch
watch him do it and then u try it while he helps u out...
u learn fast enough!!! |

Hello
yea i reckon it helps to have friends that are dj's, they can help you with some songs to mix with and you can borrow stuff. But also you get their skill and techiniques also, and this can help you heaps. When you are new to mixing you really are kinda scared to manipulate the vinyl and yea, so practice and watch your mates, and also don't be scared if that sounds stupid it isn't mean't to be |
