Review of Zabiela/Freeland

It's been a long weekend. I went out last night to Aria with no sleep. I danced most of the night until about 8-9am, I couldn't dance anymore. Zabiela's music either wasn't moving me enough or I was just plain exausted. The people that saw me inside at the start of the night said I looked super tired, imagine after dancing for 7 hours. My eyes were droppy all night.
I enjoyed most of Freeland's set, I danced quite a bit considering my style of dance doesn't really work with breakbeats; I improvised. The very end of Freeland's set and the start of Zabiela was really good, I was moving like crazy. I don't know if it was exaustion or I didn't like the second half of Zabiela's set; one or the other.
It was a fun night out with friends @ Aria and I saw a lot of people I knew too. I'm so dead now.
A few people came up to me and said Hi, I couldn't hear their names/nicknames so if you did so please tell me here so I know who it was :).
It was nice seeing Brian (kami), Ian (surprise surprise), Flo, Louis and Malek. Malek has got to be one of the nicest guys I've met in Montreal, very cool. Thanks for the compliments about my dancing :). |

| After the show here in Vnacouver James is my fav DJ. Awsome tunes and that spinning and crazy mixing he does puts him up @ the top in my books. |

I had a great time yesterday tho I left at 5AM
I was so tired from friday's night that I couldnt last longer....
Laflèche was OK, the end of his set was really nice, some sick tracks I really dont know....but I dont like the guy pretty much....trop vladé....
anyways, Freeland then came up and it was facking nice
but I was falling asleep, so I left....

Krinker!! dammit.. I asked Louis to introduce me to you when I ran into him at one point, and turns out you had just left.. (Stereo I assume) I almost made it there too but I was just too tired.
As for the beats.. I was more into Zabiela's set than Freeland's.. but I expected that anyway. That kid (JZ) is definitely skilled on da dex.. I enjoyed watching his crazy scratching & use of fx. :) |

feels great to hear different style of music sometimes
Freeland was sooo into it...moving the crowd like no one else can do it... fun to hear some goooooood breakbeats in the house:D
but my review will be more on Zabiela...king of the night
Man the guy can play anything.....the way you want it and when you want it
crazy scratch... almost creating songs only from scratching
always concentrated...touching the decks all the time...always something to fix...
i did not see him cross his arms and look at the tables ONCE...always movin...groovin...there is always something you can do to make your song even better..and he knows it
fun to watch...to listen...but im tellin you this....im pretty sure listening to his music was pretty cool on the dancefloor...but youll never know what music is all about beofre you see everything that has to be done to give you that final product

Yea a great night for sure, but i was simply too exhausted after the heavy drinking before coming to aria. I left an hour after freeland came on so i didnt hear zabiela :(.
Sorry i didnt say bye, but i couldnt find anyone.
Thanks to malek for getting me into the club, and louis as well. |
