How I got $150 (127 euros) in free CDs from Platipus Records!!

For those of you who have ever had a nightmare experience with internet orders, read on - this is funny!!
In Feb I ordered $150 (80 euros at the time) in CDs from Platipus records. They email me a few days later saying the order can't be sent because they are missing several CDs. I email them back saying to cancel the whole order because I have changed my mind due to the exchange rate being too high. I get no response and complain to the company which handles Platipus' internet sales (an outside company). They email me back and say to wait for a week. A week passes and they can get no response from Platipus! Under the sales contract, I am refunded my money and walk away a somewhat happy customer. Three months later, I get a package in the mail. Guess what it is? My cancelled order!! So now I have 12 CDs which are valued at $150 (127 euros at this time - nice!!) and I haven't paid any money for them!! Best of all - THEY SCREWED UP THE ORDER AND SENT SOME WRONG CDS!! :haha::haha::haha::haha:
For all of you planning on buying new CDs from Platipus, here's a word of warning. They are using some cheap CD burner and slapping inkjet-quality labels on their CDs. Half of the tracks are poorly burned and can't be read by a CD player and you'll be lucky if the tracks are correctly labeled.
Platipus may have been a great label back in the 90's, but from my past experiences with them in the last 3 months, I think it's a sinking ship over there! :whip:

platipus has some issues, that's true! they charge insane prices for the shipping yet all the cd covers are broken and it takes weeks/months to get the cds. i haven't had any problems with the platipus cdrs though.
i've ordered stuff there 2 times. the first time it took well over a month to for me to get the stuff and there were some missing and then they allegedly sent the missing items for me, but i didn't recieve anything in over a month and they still said they've sent it, but they'll sent them again then and i finally got them, but was kind of pissed off at the end.
the second time the cds arrived faster, but literally all the cases were shattered and i paid seriously much more for shipping there that i've paid anywhere. oh well, they're releasing quite crap tunes atm, so there's no need for me to order from them now as i've got most the old stuff i want/need.
but all in all the price and quality of the service don't match at all when ordering from platipus, which is too bad really! their customer service really does suck. |

They'll probably catch the mistake when they audit their accounts and then ask you to pay..

| The beauty of credits cards is that I can ultimately contest it with my credit card provider - so I'm not worried. The sad thing is that they probably won't catch it at all! :tongue2: |
