i've got alot of old skool music, which consists of piano and bouncy tunes, as well as hip hop and hip house.
When i drop a piano tune, what is the best tune to come after that? another piano, bouncy, basey, drums. Please advise on what rythems go with what. |

If you drop a piano tune, I assume there is a melody. The only rule to mixing piano tune after piano tune is mixing in key. Nothing sounds worse than a key clash. Search the DJ Booth section for harmonic mixing tutorials.
Other than that, be sure to mix in phrase and you're can't go wrong. |

alot of times after a very melodious tune with pianos, i move away and go into a track relying more on drums/beat structure without a 'tune' per say. i guess it would have been more of a set buildup to the piano track.
hard to explain i guess :p |
