...but it won't leave me.
Well, I didn't really "leave" jazz, I just found electronic music and kind of moved into that. The thing is, much of my music has some sort of jazz element in it. I was wondering if anyone else found the same thing? That being, if you've spent your life in one type of music like pop, classical or jazz, do you find it leaking into your trance produtions?
I don't know if you'd consider this "trance," but here's what I mean. And yes, that is me on keyboard (improvising) and also electric bass.

i've been producing rock/metal for 4 years, and electronica for only 2. a lot of people that listen to rock/metal can recognize different aspects in my songs, and, in some cases, even figure out what bands influence me!

somewhat the opposite for me.. I've been doing trance for 4 years but have been experimenting with classical for the past year and there are a lot of electronic elements in my classical pieces.. or at least, I intended for there to be :)

When i was growing up my dad listened to classical, and I just followed along. I find that i use classical type chords a lot, and of course the obligatory "remix a mozart/beethoven/etc classic" type of song.

... still really love ASTRUD GILBERTO or Antonio Carlos Jobim work.
I was in house music scene 4 years and there you'll find all jazz elements! In trance music .. nah .. maybe some rideopenhats :D
But anyway LOVE JAZZ!
