hey people,
ok. i was just wondering if any one else out there has shakey hands when it comes to needle work. i mean, i'm just so worried that i'm gonna scratch the vinyl (especially the ones that i pay a lot for) that sometimes i get a little shakey. what do you guys think?
i just want to protect my babies... |

I have the same problem, they start shaking right before the needle hits the record, I just try not to think about it, and my hands don't shake. |

hehe, I am actually very unkind ot my vinyls, i'll scratch on em all, drop the needle on em, drag the needle (accidentally, not on purpose), and all those other things that make you cringe.
If I dind't want to scratch it or harm it I wouldn't play it. I just expect them to get messed up when I play. |

No, I only have shakey hands if I'm either really pumped up to do a set, nervous about it, or both.
For example, my first time playing at an afterhours club a couple of weeks ago I was a bit twitchy at first, settled in fairly quickly though. |

ive actually gotten problem as well when i mix at my friends house, i think its just a matter of being comfortable enough with 1000s of dollars of someone elses equipment over time |

I have been throwing a lot of parties in my apartment lately, and ive noticed i only get shaky when someone is just standing there watching every move i make. Its different if they're watching and talking to me though, i feel more comfortable. Even if they're not talking about the music or whatever, its just more comfortable to have someone there talking to you rather thsan just stare at you. Its easier for me when people are dancing too.. but these are only house parties.. ive only played on a radio station once.
Also, rum makes my hands shake hehe. |

Nah I never get shakey. To me its just like playing a playstation game in front of an audience or something,.. I just do what I know how to do and what I can do, and with the occasional few flukes I get things done. I've played in front of small audiences (< 100) tho..nothing big. |
