I know I've mentioned this amazing festival to a few of you before, and some of you already attend this yearly. Here's my attempt to spread ther word about this amazing yearly event that has had me counting the days every year since I first attended two years ago. Details at:

www.omfestival.ca

To summarize, it's a weekend festival up north for summer solstice every year (June 18-21 this year). It's a combination of electronic music, environmental consciousness, non-consumerism, political awareness, and amazing art. Sort of a hippy meets raver vibe. You end the weekend not only having partied hard, but refreshed from spending time with so many amazing people. This festival is second to none and my words are not elegant enough to describe it. If anyone is interested and doesn't know anyone else going, you're welcome to join my crew and I'm sure rides could be arranged.

thats so weird cause today i was just thinking about finding info on it. i've never been before, but i'm planning on going this year. THANKS!

Nat, LOL I was just thinking the same. For those who don't know, Nat almost hit a moose driving to OM last year (and broke her arm in the crash that followed), and I did hit a deer on my way back. I'm never driving through Algonquin again, and I have developed new-found respect for driving through country roads.

By the way, this year's party is going to be at a new location which is soon to be announced.

DeE420, you're welcome, it's always nice to have new OMies join the crew. :)

did somebody say racing through curvey dangerous country roads?

:D
Arcticboy
LOL, when I got back last year I got a letter from the OPP saying that someone had reported my car being driven in that area recklessly. HeHe, I figured they must have been talking about the little while when a sooped up civic and I were going at it (while my passengers were hindering me by screaming continuously, LOL).

As awesome as country roads are, the thing is if a deer jumps out behind a curve, you're screwed. The one I hit luckily was when I was actually only going at about 80K, had it been a few minutes earlier when I was going 120K in the same road, things could have turned out much much worse.

, I just realized I'm hijacking my own thread Halo20 style. :)

Back to OM!!!

i would say byebye to the front grills and the hood to say the least. Gets any uglier, first thing that goes is the rad fan then the rad. not a fun job to fix. combination of body work and mechanic job.

Insurance paid around $5000 in work, but really all that happened was my front bumper got scratched, the crack in my windshield which was already there got worse (replace that while we're at it), and all the airbags needed replacing (F*CK THOSE AIRBAGS- they break your arms!). Thing that made me sad: my autographed Picotto license plate was destroyed in the spin out when it collided with the guard rail. All this 1 day after I renewed the damn things. :whip:

I am seriouls making every effot to make it to OM this year. I've heard now from many people who have gone that it was one of the best experiences of thier lives....

See you there:stongue:
Arcticboy
Rich, I will personally kick your ass if you don't make it this year, LOL. Let me know if you need a ride.

As for my car, I managed to steer enough to only catch the deer's butt with the corner of my car, which still cost 2000 bucks to fix (I only had to pay 300 deductible and no increase in insurance rate because it's not considered an accident, thank god).

Nat, couldn't you declare the Picotto license as a valuable item and get some cash for it?
