Are you sure? does it say MK3 on it? I have never seen one of these, i always thought it was just people who were saying it wrong.
Here is a picture i found of searching for "MK3"
http://www.avland.co.uk/technics/sl1210m3/
if you click the picture, you can see it's clearly labeled an M3D.
then again, this page also labels it as an "TECHNICS SL-1210M3D"
and "The SL1210M3"
and "SL-1210 MK3"
I would like to see a picture of a technics deck with MK3 on it, or a link to an official technics site to figure this out, because i have wondered about it before. |

| well, there are mk2, mk4 (yes, there is a japanese technics mk4, very cool, with 78RPM, and plugs for your RCA cables :D) and mk5, they figure, why not mk3? heh. |

| Yeah, i agree they should have called it the mk3, it only makes sense. But i don't think they actually did. |

Inconclusive proof. They have an image labeled as MK3, but that doesn't prove anything, it looks just like my M3D.
in fact if you mouse over the image, it shows MK3D, and that is the name of the image itself.
Here's a link from www.japan-101.com "Your single best source for facts and information about Japan"

| Shudder |
would this be any different from a sl-1200mk3d???
this is all getting so confusing |

| One of my turntables is an M3D and the other one is an MK3. They seem to be almost the same, but my MK3 has been holding up better. |
