Anyone miss 1999?

Don't wanna sound like a nostalgic loser, but I utterly miss the atmosphere of that particular year.

Was it the peak-hour of the 90s?

Alot of people claim the music had already been corrupted and that 99 was a terrible end to an important decade.

To me 1999 will always depict the true and definitive spirit of the inter/national trance scene.

Though alot of the releases at the time lacked quality and were quite basic, the whole vibe and moodyness of the 98/99 trance era still blows my mind.

Still have a blast whenever trance blows away the audience, but nothing ever comes close..

Anyone else want a time-machine?

'99...all in all trance is rather "ty" atm since ever retard on the planet dl's cubase and produces , gets on asot, gets like $300 for the release, makes armin Million, and does it again and again. Then Every once complains that they aren't makeing enough money for thewir productions. Then they blame it on mp3.

If the dj is good 99 could be long forgotten. If i had do choose a year it would be 01/02...soo much better anyway

Yes i find I really can't listen to most of the trance that comes out nowerdays - although a gem will pop up once in a while. Tend to stick to melodic progressive and breaks.

1999 is a year that i wont forgot easily. Trance found a niche in this year, and although theres better trance nowadays, nothing can touch 1999 for how much trance exploded in one year...

Same here, these days I tend to listen to more Progressive rather than trance..

seriously tho 99 was the , and todays trance isnt really anywhere near as good, but then again you can say that about any style really, hip hop heads will say that NWA etc rap was loads better than current stuff. just sumthing you gotta live with unfortunatly

No, I miss 95-98, the days of Qattara, Big C, X-Avia, Grace, Space Brothers, Andy Ling, Amethyst etc. and labels like Stress, Hooj, PLatipus, Skinnymalinky, Steel Fish. 1999 was good for the rise in "anthem" trance, but the commercialisation of it was the start of it's downfall IMO.

lol i was waiting for your post :p

but yeah you just sorta proved my point... if you got into trance at an earlier time, or was introduced to an earlier trance to begin with.. chances are your gonna not like todays stuff as much and your always gonna be reverting back to the old GOOD stuff, everyones the same
