Agreed with that, had a Nokia 6600 for a month or two now, have not had one problem with it! It's not cheap, but I reckon it's worth it since the mobile is something you're going to use probably every day for the next couple of years....
Takes 640x480 photos, not brilliant but they look good on the phone's screen, OK on the computer. It takes videos as well. Unlike most phones it has a removable memory card (32 meg MMC) included, which you can upgrade to any other size MMC (eg 1 gig). Then you can convert all those DivX movies into 3gp files and watch em on your phone on the train ;)
My favourite thing is the downloadable applications, since it's running Symbian there is a load of software you can get for it. It doesn't come with an MP3 player, but no matter, download one and install it. If you've upgraded the MMC you've got plenty of space to go around! If you don't like the look of the menus, download a few different themes and change it! And you can use MP3 files for your ringtones :)
The screen on these is fkn amazing btw, really bright and clear. 65000 colours and a better resolution than any other phone I've seen.
Summary: if you can afford one, get one! You won't be disappointed :D |

Thanks for the kind words to my now resting in nokia heaven 8210... :(
Well i was doing a little grocery shopping with my girl yesterday and found a funky one, Sony Ericsson z200 or sumthing like that.
Its a little flip one, not much features but its only about $300 outright, im not going on a plan cause me no like the 24 month stuff. cause that is donkey years long.. eeK!
Anyways, i might get that soon, just gotta save up the $$$ as i spent it all on other things... voooppz... how was eye to know i was gonna break my fone.. :(
Anyone know wats a nice fone for under or around that price range? Or were i can get one?
Also with prepaid, im going to change my AAPT prepaid, gonna go Voda 40 or sumthing like that, u pay like $30 a month, n u get $40 of free calls, but when u do the maths its really $10 free.. voops, but they have good call rates n some other stuff, forgot what it was.

It dun have camera or other funky stuff but i don't use that anyways, its like $330 from vodafone and it don't sound too bad.
Anyone know where to get it for a better price? or other recommendations on something similar, i don't want those nokia 2100 or sumthing cause i might as well get something a little nicer for abit more money. n the 6610 is about the same price but me no really like it that much. Flip ones a cool. :)

| when we were up at sufers for schoolies a year and a half ago my mate dropped his phone getting on the elevator and it fell down the crack between the doors. 8 storeys it fell, but we managed to recover the pieces and put it back together, it was a little ed after that, to say the least. |

Just replaced my phone..
Panasonic X60....... bloody awesome, its got everything, $450 outright with $30 free credit on a no plans sim from vodafone
Little flip phone, looks very cool, chicks love it;) A great conversation starter on trains, buses etc |

Oli how can you hate Ericssons!!! They rock!!! My T28 lasted 3 years (damn lightning strikes frying its electrics!) and my T60's doing damn well!!
Its Nokia that are !!! ;)

yep, I had a T28 too and it lasted 4 years!! (until and client dropped it on the floor, and then somebody decided to throw it:crazy: :p |

nokias are over-rated, but thank god for marketing to exploit our naive nature. please, buy this phone - its "human technology".

I don't care for this cheap ass motorola phone I got while down here...but it works, though it makes very little sense.
A guy I work with back in chicago has the i730 motorola...that is a nice phone, hell it has more features than my home computer I think.
On the off chance that I move down here in the future (which would be supa cool) I will have to make sure to buy a GSM phone through my cousin who works for Motorola.
One thing I found out about your phones down here which I find a bit odd is the whole "naughty SMS chats" and the "XXX fotos" for your mobile that are advertised in the back of magazines.
We don't have ANYTHING like that in the states. :eek:
