My question is not whether you like Christians or Muslims (NOTE: Pulling any ignorant anti-religious bigot crap, will result in either warning or a suspension). It is a threat that must be made because I am not going to allow this to become a bash a religion.
My political HOTHEADED question is
Do you think there is more hate than love between Christians and Muslims and do you think it is because of the past, the crusades and other wars? |

curious question
I've read in the Quran (Probably one of the few Christians to actually read it) that they say kill the Christian, am I wrong first of all? I would like to know from the Muslims on this board, just for clarification as well. Does that still stand for Muslims...can someone clarify this. |

trying to understand.
"more hate than love" compared to when or what?
Christianity and Islam become subject to perversion by humanity. it's in the perversion that all conflict manifests. |

Yes that is Quite wrong...you like most have read WAY out of context unfortunately. It says that circumstances of battle to kill, just like any other person b/c every other circumstance should kind to especially Christians and Jews who are reffered to as people of the book... but please explain to us since you are proficient enough to read other scriptures you must be very well versed in your own..that why the NT calls Jews "serpents" and "broods of vipers" and "hypocrites", and why Jesus came to "bring the sword" or why he said he has come to "divide... not bring peace". |

I shall supress my anti-religious sentiments at the behest of the thread starter :D.
At any rate, I believe that there is most certainly more hate than love between christians and muslims, but I do not believe that to be the case as a result of the crusades or any other historical event. Muslims and christian nations banded together quite easily during both world wars when they served each others interests. |

It does not say anything like that in the Torah! But there is a Jewish book (a major one), possible Talmud but i will find out for sure that Jesus will be in boiling hot semen. |

It's excrement not semen. It's in the Talmud.
There's anti-muslim sentiment in islam anyway. What about Salman Rushdie, Saddam Hussein, the Sunni-Sufi or e-Sunni exchanges in the islamic world?
The Crusades and the Inquisition were run by the catholic church not by true christians. The same church that kept the bible from the people until it was printed.
But as they say "one bad apple spoils the barrel". |

So what i picked up from that is Catholics are not true christians, and we can choose when who is right or wrong whenever we wish. |

In the Arab world, generally there is much more love between Muslims and Christians than hate. The hate usually arises out of majority/minority issues. But it also depends on where you go. I know in Sudan the situation is terrible and in some parts of Lebanon because of its geographical and political history, but in Palestine and Jordan everyone generally gets along. Many of my Jordanian friends didn't even know that tensions existed between the two in other Arab countries until they left Jordan. I firmly believe that the biggest obstacle to love between Arab Christians and Muslims is the lack of democracy in the Arab world. Lack of social education and racism and social justice awareness.
As for the rest of the world, I believe there is more love between the two, but the only good news is the bad news and that's what we get on TV and in the papers.
The Crusades and other historical events may unconsciously affect relations between the two, but that's debatable. |
