there are a few techniques, like chunking. When you have to remember a string of numbers lets say, 34982745, think of it as, 34 98 27 45. can also be applied to objects as well, just categorize.
rehersal sucks, you will forget it sooner or later if you keep going over it in your head.
associate it with something meaningful that you will always remember. I forget the examples...hehe, or Im too lazy to think.
I have a really really bad memory, it is above par in some respects, but not the respects I like. |

| It depends what subject you are doing. If you are doing memorization stuff (not math stuff) i think its better to thoroughly understand definitions and content by visualizing things that pertain to the idea(s) or word(s). Also rehersal of material wont help unless you fully understand it and it makes sense to you. |

if i remember correctly you should have your eyes slighlty upward while reading. this means: not lying down with the book on your chest, you should: sit up straight, tuck in your chin a little and position the book a feet in front of you, preferably leaning, not lying down.
looking slightly upwards will access where visual memory i stored in the brain. cant remember them all but i think smell is to the side and emotions are down. this can be seen if you ask someone questions.
questions about what something looked like, such as "what was the colour of your family´s car when you were a kid?", should with most people result in them looking slightly upwards, accessing the visual memory.
so while reading, make sure you access the part of your brain where it is stored, it should make learning a little easier.
