Here is an interesting article concerning the upcoming release of the movie, "The Day after Tomorrow," and the political impact it may have, namely in the upcoming presidential election.

I for one hope that the American public has more intestinal fortitude than to let a Hollywood popcorn movie sway their political views. I do know that the country loves to ride waves of hysteria and unfortunatly I can see this movie altering the course of maybe a few political outcomes. Not to be overtly cynical, but I do know that Hollywood is mostly liberal in nature, and I know this would not be the first time a movie became a sublimeminal tool for political change. What do you guys think? Do you believe this movie and the scientific errors it contains could actually sway a nation? |

| I predict that the movie, like Troy, will prove to be yet another colossal waste of money in the name of special effects and a poorly written script! |

I doubt the making of this movie was politically motivated. I actually heard that the creators have been sitting on this movie concept for a couple of years, but waited because of 9/11. We used to get desaster movies showing major cities and national monuments being blown up pretty consistantly. But after 9/11 people got pretty upset over those types of images. Now that people are a bit more calm, its time to destroy the planet again.
But I'm sure it will suck too. |
