the sound just stopped coming out of the right ear cup. It was like there was a loose connection somewhere.

Lady, you should get some european-made quality headphones.

Sennheiser HD 25 is the right choice.

dont go for the cheaper HD25SP's either, they are bloody annoying :)

DKNYlady,

I agree with borron. I recently purchased new Sennheiser HD25... man they are defenitely the best pair of headphones ive ever owned.

Keep in mind, that Im judging the Senns after owning sony MDR 7506, Technics RP-DJ1200 (black version), Sony MDRV700, and having the Pioneer HDJ-1000 (only for a couple of days before returning), but no including some other crappier ones in the past.

Since you have owned Pioneer HDJ-1000... ill give a quick comparison

Well first, let me mentioned I decided not to keep the HDJ-1000, because the stereo image was too heavy and it was nasty to mix with IMO, in addition to the actual hole in the earcups being way to small to get ambience when doing one ear monitoring. I also notice their construction reminded me much of the infamous MDRV700 from Sony, which as we all know, dont last too long.

Anyways, I can tell you from having the Sennheiser HD25, that they will blow the HDJ-1000 out of the water, in terms of sound quality. Besides that ... you ask... well sound quality is good, but what if i use em in a club or live party?.. tested and they work great. They are well balanced.
I was weary myself of how responsive the bass was going to be.. but the bass was as punchy as the MDRV700 from sony, but without muddying (if thats a word LOL) over other frequencies.

Totally agree bachatu. But that's not the point... I honestly would like to know if pioneer will replace your headphones.

i own both sony mdrv700 and hdj1000, and all i can say

mdrv700 > hdj1000

i have a stanton dj pro 2000s but i'm sure as hell saving for a hdj1000. Shame they're so fragile but i tried them on last week and damn, what a cristal clear sound compared to my stantons :)
dj_lucas_B
why do people keep comparing hdj100 and hd25s ?

I dont know about else where but hre in australia the hdj1000 cost about $240 thats what i paid, and the hd25s cost over $400 which is what they were at the same store.

So if you can afford nearly half a grand for hd25 then get them. if not the hdj1000 is a good alternative and nearly half the price :)
borron
That depends on the location. Actually in Europe the HD 25 are cheaper than the HDJ-1000 (although only by $10 or so).

I have them too (the stantons as per my pic actualy when I think about it), they ain't that bad soundwise do the the job. Plus importantly I don't recon on them breaking had them must be 3 years ripping them on and off my head in frantic (seriously, I beast these f*ckers) cue action and they've been good too me.

....still want the Sen 25's tho :tongue2

I'm kind of suprised to see this about the Pioneers, a few people that bought them locally were generally trying to say that they are bulletproof, way better than the Sonys, will last forever, etc.

Personally, I really like my Sony 700s, that'll probably continue until they crack, which hopefully will be a long ways off...
