99% sure this will be the Spanish Squad based on every aspect.

GK:Casillas, Canizares, Aranzubia

DF: Salgado, Manuel Pablo, Marchena, Helguera, Raul Bravo, Puyol

MF: Baraja, Albelda, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Joaquin, Exteberria, Vicente, Luque, Reyes, Valeron

FW: Raul, Morientes, Torres, Mista

Honestly I don't think it's that bad of a team. If only we had a true Left Back (which we do but Saez doesn't want one it seems  ), then we could be a 100% solid all around team. With that midfield anything is possible though....

No Del Horno ? Natural replacement imo

and i forgot salgado from mine (oops) but I'd like to see Salva go as the in form striker
SPANIARD
Yeah but I think Saez wants to bring in players with Caps in those types of positions. I can see him bringing Mista because of his performance today and reading articles of hearing him talk so good about his form. Salva kind of wasted his chance vs. Denmark, although it was kind of unfair since it was only 45 minutes, plus I think Tamudo or Mista would be better considering their form.

The only thing that still gets to me is Raul Bravo in the team and it's even more surprising that Del Horno isn't since Saez is Basque.

I can understand that he wants experience, but in Del Horno's case, he's in form this whole season, attracting interest from barca and playing consistently well, that should be what a player is chosen for, and to pick sum1 like Bravo ahead of him is a bad move imho. We could use to borrow one of the spanish wingers tho, u got Reyes, Vicente and Yeste who would all get in the england side for left mid :(

To be fair he was only 19 then. But it doesn't surprise me he's been left out this time, he's been a massive disappointment for Newcastle, considering he was "European Young Player of the Year" a couple of years back. You wouldn't think it when you look at him in the Premiership.

mmmkay, to be honest, he was injured during a part of the season, and then Robson didn't give him much chances. And, as paranoik0 pointed out, he'll be in the U-21 ECH.

Oh... and I'm not very sure of the countries of which the Latvian players play in, so expect for some mistakes there :toothless

ugh dark i'm sorry but that thing you're doing on the first page is damn ugly to read :p

I don't remember any major injuries, he mainly just lacked match fitness.

Viana complained for a lot of the season that he didn't get a chance in the side, that his lack of first team football would get him dropped for Portugal and I actually had quite a lot of sympathy for him. Towards the end of the season Newcastle were hit with simultaneous injuries through our squad and we began to call on our reserve players. Viana was given a good run of games in his favourite position and did nothing against some of the Premiership's poorer sides. He looked completely out of his depth in the UEFA Cup semi-final against Marseille and gave Marseille their first goal by completely missing an easy header which put through Drogba.

Unfortunately he is too slow for the Premiership, can't tackle, can't head the ball, and lacks commitment and effort. People used to say 'but his passing and vision is potentially world class' - unfortunately his passing has been very poor this season, although his game has become slightly more physical.

The only reason Newcastle are keeping him is because he cost 8.5M. If we sold him now we'd get maybe 2M, which isn't really worth it. We may as well keep him for another year, maybe he will improve or his market value might will rise if he is good for Portugal under-21s. I think he could do well in the Italian or Spanish league but the English league doesn't suit his style.
