I didn't bother looking at San Francisco. But the fact that our lineup through till july looks better than Miami's says something (even if it's just a slightly bit better). NY's isn't that far off either. And I never said that Toronto is the best at it on a weekly basis, but at certain times we can easily hold our own (like the time that I'm talking about. Now->early July). Obviously on a yearly basis Toronto can't really compare, especially to Miami and the WMC.

And Jon, comparing Toronto to Chicago is really outlandish from what my buddy, as well as a TA, has been telling me (he moved here from Chicago).

Fair enough. Outside of the wmc, Miami has never really been known for bringing in consistent talent. The truth is that they don't need to. Everybody is into the club scene out there so people will go regardless of who is spinning.

As for your Chicago comparison, are you saying TO is better or worse? I've actually never partied there, but as far as I know Chicago can't compare (is this what your implying?). I know the Spundae crew that throws their weekly party at Vision, and Red No 5 used to be good (not sure if its still open though). I reckon Chicago has gone the way of Detroit in terms of clubs (ie. non-existant).

When Toronto can have a creamfields type festival and draw 30,000 people for a huge ass party with an amazing vibe... then i will consider it a world class scene. Until then we have guv, system and boa and viva for the surburban folks. (except boa needs a liquor licence)

The only city in North America to do something like this on an annual basis, as far as i know, is Miami. Are you saying they're the only ones with a world-class scene? Please, if anything, New York showed the world that you don't need huge commercial events to have a STRONG scene in it's Twilo days. What other club had a monthly residencey by 2 gods for, what, 5 years was it? And thats not even mentioning all the other acts they brought in, in those days.

Jayx1, the city has more than enough events 7 days a week right now.

Many of them are known to those who simply are involved heavily in the scene and their friends. Not every night out is about hundreds of people and intl djs in the scene. There is a lot of talent in this city, much of it found in the Monday to Thursday events, where it's a bit more relaxed, and a handfull of people, who truly love the music.

I live in New York City. You complainers have no idea what you have in Toronto. Things are just starting to get better here:

This week in we have Satoshi and Tom Stephan at 2 of the best clubs in the city Spirit and Crobar.

In June we have Sasha and Deep Dish coming the June 18 weekend.

Paul Van Dyk plays at Central Park on June 25.

The NYC scene is slowly rebuilding itself but it will probably never compare to how cool Toronto's EDM scene is for various societal and political reasons. I would drool to have a club like Boa in NYC with a soundsystem and super friendly cool crowd to match.

I'm coming up for Freedom and am really looking forward to it ;)

wasn't there supposed to be a Creamfields NYC and Las Vegas back in like 2001.. ? the event was cancelled due to poor ticket sales from what i recall..

I have never seen a party like Freedom in NYC or in the US for that matter. There is not a club big enough or the pull enough to make it happen. The closest to a mega event I can think of is Cochella in California or Burning Man in Nevada. I have heard the scene in Las Vegas is getting better and better. Time will tell if this becomes clubland in the US>

Heheh, don't worry, that does NOT mean nobody recognizes Montreal and its scene :) I would definately say that MTL is in the top 5.

And Mother, thats what I was implying

haha probably, I was just comparing it on size (pop) alone. And even that is probably innacurate.
