| More Avril Lavigne mixes! I'm not kidding. I liked the "I'm With You" one by Leama & Moor. And she's got a new album out now -- I spotted synth sounds on some of the tracks so it's not that far a stretch ;) |

I think "tastefully done" often depends on the producer in question's depth and immersion into the context of classical music. I think Photek made a good point pertaining to sampling jazz for drum 'n' bass a long time ago... he said something to the effect of: it's disrespectful to just sample and not be aware of the rich cultural tapestry of what you're sampling. I would hold the same to be true. While I am not a classical snob (although I am a times a technosnob ;) ), I really liked the Adagio For Strings remix by Ferry Corsten remixing William Orbit who remade the original, LOL... haven't heard the Tiesto one yet but it does seem to be a popular choice.
Have you heard Vanessa-Mae or Bond? They play classical strings to beats, some of them dance music ones. "Techno-acoustic" is what it's marketed as. I likey a lot. Same with another act called Operatica... you can guess what they do ;) |

i completely agree with this. one of my favorite enya songs. i'd also like to see remixes of Book of Days and Storms Over Africa. but not some stupid trancey mix like would probably happen...it would have to be something superb. |

| I think U2 - electrical storm would make a great remix even if you just used the initial melody at the beginnning of the song and worked with that. |
